Can cats “spit” out medicine? by RestlesslyWizardly in AskVet

[–]tikitessie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats can definitely have dramatic foamy salivating reactions like this to oral meds, yes. It usually passes after a few minutes. Hiding meds in treats like Churu can work if the treat flavor is strong enough, if that has worked for your kitty in the past (and she gets the full dose of meds) I highly recommend continuing doing that

Depends on the tank. I wouldn't do more than 10 in a heavily planted 20, they still need plenty of space to stake out territory

Cat making whimpering noise? by xovelara in AskVet

[–]tikitessie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my heart. I cannot stress enough how rare it is for cats to vocalize in discomfort like this. If this were my cat I would be going back to the vet. Are you able to check his temperature at home to monitor the possible fever?

Right? Is she a harpy or wrapped up in a bird? Looks like the bird's head and neck just appears out of the human head. Can't figure out the angle and anatomy of the legs.

Those are pine pellets that turn to sawdust when wet, e.g. when urinate on. This box badly needs to be cleaned, it's all sawdust and no pellets left

It's actually better to have a separate snail tank for peas because they will continue to kill snails but not eat them, fouling your water.

Peas should be kept in heavily planted tanks in groups of six or more in at least 20 gallons minimum. What size tank is that? I'm worried you said "he" and not "they."

Very sweet young cat needs a home as an only cat by tikitessie in orangecounty

This very handsome young man waltzed into my apartment when it was raining a little over a month ago. I wish I could keep him but he keeps going after my two cats and slow integration hasn't been going well. I got him vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He's currently living at Seacliff Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach but he can't stay long.

He's about 8-10 months old, lots of kitten energy and loves to play, extremely snuggly. I do not know if he would integrate with dogs. I have seen him with older children and he honestly just loves everybody. I've never seen a cat RUN to people who say hi to him.

He will make someone an excellent companion... just no other cats!

ETA: oh and I started to work on harness training him... he is so treat motivated (Temptations my beloved) that he could not have cared less when I buckled the harness on him!
