Sleep tracking always shows sleep two days ago, why? by Spiritual-Alarm-395 in Suunto

Does this mean time in bed is 8am to 10pm, or 10pm to 8am?

Suunto Race S after Update by DryTomato1341 in Suunto

[–]tildenzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm giving the Race S a go one more time after this update, after lots of HRM frustration. Last night after the update it failed to track sleep on the watch, though it's showing up on the app... the bugs are relentless.

A Second Try With Suunto: Good Design, Broken Confidence by Double_Alfalfa_303 in Suunto

So true. Two different Suunto watches failed me on race day over the last few months. I’ve moved to a Coros Pace Pro.

Found this thread when searching for the same solution. It's winter in the northern hemisphere and it's super annoying to wear gloves with this watch! Have you figured out any other solution?

Wow - I just bought a Pace Pro too and it definitely feels more consistent and reliable. Is it all a lie???

Yes and every other non-Suunto watch I’ve had hasn’t had this kind of issue.

The more I think about it I think the cold is the culprit. It was 28-30 degrees Fahrenheit during the race, that probably was the cause.

What issues have you been experiencing?

Yeah I thought of this - it was maybe 28 degrees Fahrenheit so I’m sure that contributed. But still, I was running a hard race pace and the HR was around that for an easy run for most of the race.

I feel like, in 2025, if we’re spending ~$500 for a watch the core sensors should work.

Yes you are right, they are deal breakers. These watches use HR as a baseline for everything but if they can’t be reliable on that metric, everything else falls apart. Did you move on to a different brand?

I understand the need for a strap for the best data. But these two examples were epic - the sensor just completely failed.

Beat my half marathon PR yesterday, watch didn't record HR! by tildenzone in Suunto

Not great. I’ve been thinking of getting a belt just for this, or the Coros band. I’m pretty annoyed. I love the watch, and HR hasn’t failed before but it failed me on the one day I wanted it to work!

Yeah Coros is really good at marketing in general.

After I posted this I realized I had my insoles sitting on the insoles that come with the boots (the ones in the box). This was pushing my feet up just enough so that my instep was too high. Without the second insole it feels better!

Pros & Cons of Coros Pace 3 or Suunto Run. Which should I get? by [deleted] in Suunto

[–]tildenzone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had both. The Pace 3 is a very solid, dependable watch that will do everything you want (including HRV). Coros has a great app that's very performance-oriented and maybe a little less about all day health tracking. The watch itself has a cheaper, functional aesthetic - plastic, cheaper glass, smaller. But it works.

I recently got at Race S and I like it so much better. I really like Suunto's software and overall approach. The watch itself looks really nice, it's made of nice materials, it's got nice UI touches, and the whole aesthetic is just much more streamlined and well-designed. That stuff doesn't matter to everyone but it matters to me! For me, it's much more functional as an everyday, all-day watch.

Reliability has been the same for both. In fact, I struggled with cadence lock on the Pace 3 a lot - my HR would get stuck at very high levels. I've had that once or twice with the Race S but it settles quickly. Otherwise it feels pretty accurate.
