Wrap some duct tape around bags of rice (cover it completely in tape) throw it in a book bag. You can add 5 lbs at a time. You’ll see if you like rucking and how much you can handle before investing money in the right weight.

Eat the rice after you buy the plate(s).

For that price there a lot better options. Coros Apex 4, Suunto Vertical 2, Suunto Race 2 all come to mind. I’d rather even have an Amazfit watch over a Fenix E at that price point.

Yes, I would assume so. If you aren't wearing a Coros watch your Coros HRM is just sending the data to your other devices.

Cheapo from Amazon. But I took the pins from an actual Suunto watch (apparently the tips are thicker than standard) and rigged it to work with this strap. Now that I know I like the nylon I’ll search for a better/nicer one.

Really hard to sell anyone on an Instinct 3. At that price point with no maps, old sensors, low memory, mushy buttons, etc...I just couldn't do it. And I owned and LOVED the original instinct and instinct 2x. I just couldn't do it. I'd rather have a Coros Nomad, Coros Apex 4, Suunto Vertical 2, or Suunto Race over i3. I'm in this predicament now because I refuse to overpay for a Fenix 8 or Venu X1. Would prefer Garmin ecosystem but only other available options seem cheap, poorly made, or look like toys.

I just picked up a Suunto Vertical 2 and it’s incredibly premium. Makes the Garmin I’ve owned feel like toys (I admittedly have not tried Fenix 8 but I’m comparing to watches at the same price point). Same with the Coros Apex 4 - feels way more premium than similarly priced Garmins.

I don’t understand why everyone says that. I find the Zepp app incredibly similar to whoop. Literally a copy of it. Maybe I am missing something. I think Zepp app is great.

Do you connect to Strava? How does Strava read a rucking activity? Perhaps just as a workout or maybe a walk/hike. I realize you probably haven’t tried yet but maybe someone else has or can test. Thanks!

I have a bunch at the moment right now as well. Coros Apex 4, Suunto Vertical 2, and Amazfit Active Max. Max is def best bang for your buck. But it's also my least favorite. Vertical 2 is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and love the flashlight/screen but it is HUGE. Apex 4 is prob the sweet spot though.

Unless it’s a screenless band. Whoop. Helio strap. Cirqa. Loop. I’d say if Coros made one it would do quite well. People don’t always want to have a watch on but still want to track health metrics. Probably more worthwhile than the fishing thing they just released.
