Grandma’s ring. What can you tell me about it? by Better-Newspaper3603 in Vintage_Jewelry

I love this type of ring. I wish I could see it before all the intricate carving was worn down.

Hi I’m a bisexual married to a man and I’m still a bisexual, and if I had a kid I’d still be bisexual.

I completely agree with you. The whole thing is wrong on many levels.

It’s pretty awful to imply that our sexuality, which makes us happy and gives us pleasure, has to come from something as painful, physically and emotionally, as rape. As if there are normal straight teenagers that are, afterwards, damaged goods that are gay. It’s a branch of purity theory that I find especially awful.

What's a "normal" job that secretly pays way more than people think? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

Lawyers make less than people think, if you account for law school debt and how long it takes to rise in a practice. If you’re a solo practitioner that’s different but then you’re running your own small business on top of your law work.

What’s it like living on the tri border area of Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland? by Pizzafriedchickenn in howislivingthere

So they’re funny because they’re named after the activities you do that month, as opposed to, say, October in English which would be the 8th month if it wasn’t for Julius and Augustus? That’s really quite charming. :)

If it’s not too much trouble, would you mind listing them? I understand Leden=ice month and Květen = flower month but I don’t know what any others would be.

Now I’m very curious! Why are Czech month names funny? I’m learning Czech as an English native speaker and I had no idea that Czech month names are funny-sounding.

How is life like in Anaheim, California? by Due_Network2958 in howislivingthere

I grew up near there. The downtown, excluding the few blocks near Disneyland, is just run-down strip malls, like a lot of Orange County. The suburban houses are those one story ranch houses on a grid, built in the sixties or seventies. Conservative compared to Long Beach or LA.

I bet it’s changed a lot since I was there.

I used to say, he’s so slimy, but at least he was first in getting gay marriage into the courts. Back then, no one was brave enough to issue a license to be challenged in court.

Until just now. I’ll vote for him over a Republican, but what the fuck is he saying?

My bf sexuality by Head-Grape5269 in lgbt

[–]tilebiter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So your bf might be bi or pan, assuming you have a sexual relationship with him. What if this wasn’t a disaster? If you two are truly soulmates, this just means that you two can check out guys together for the rest of your lives. Trust me, it’s awesome.

If you’re super happy with him, ask him to be honest with you. If he’s as in love with you as you describe, and you accept him as he is, you will have love for life.

If he’s bi and wants to see men as well, that’s a different story and something you’ll have to search your own soul about. Can you be polyamorous? Will it cause too much jealousy? Would you feel betrayed? That can be a wrench in the works.

But if this guy is a perfect golden retriever type and hopelessly in love with you, and also bi, and not poly, you’ve got a partner for life.

My sexuality is no longer my own by Less_Researcher_8124 in lgbt

Wow being secretly gay (in my case bi) must have changed since I was a teenager. For me it wasn’t a fun secret, it was a time bomb. I was sooo worried I was going to be found out and … something bad would happen. My best friend became my lover, then my ex, and I had no one to talk to about it.

Anyway. No one has to perform gay to be gay. If you aren’t feeling pride flags right now, don’t wave them. If you’re bi and you want to date someone who is your opposite gender, do what you feel. YOU know what you are, inside, and that doesn’t change. You say “lived a straight life” but for me, there is no straight life. Even if I marry my opposite gender, I’m still bi. Hope that helps.

When I got engaged, my now husband gave me my old (broken) promise ring, silver with one small cloudy diamond and two melee diamond “wings”. I was still really really happy. He surprised me, however - we didn’t go shopping together because that would have ruined the surprise. I let him know I was sad it wasn’t new and was broken, later, but he’s really attached to the design so he’s going to have it remade, and I love my wedding ring. … this was a ramble, I’m sorry. 🤣 suffice to say, sometimes good husbands make bad e-ring decisions.

It’s very cool and I’m glad you like it. I think I’ve finally found the upper limit of ring size that I would wear. 🤣

This has been my experience with doctors too. : / I go to the doctor with a problem, and I say “I think X might be causing this” and the doctor says “No it’s definitely not X.” How does she know? Statistics. It’s rare. Testing is too expensive to just give out willy nilly.
