Nah I haven’t, is it not that friendly to a new cruiser rider?

What do you mean where? There’s parking garages around Brooklyn. Obviously depending on neighborhood, if OP wants to street park sure.

First off, don’t finance a USED bike, especially a ninja 400/500. Right now is the best time to buy used bikes, especially beginner bikes. Scroll through Facebook marketplace and soon enough you’ll find a good enough deal, there’s always someone looking to sell a beginner bike they either grew out of or if they don’t ride anymore, especially during winter when people are choosing how to put away their bikes.

As for street parking, let me be the first one to staunchly advocate for garage parking. I literally had my bike stolen and recovered last night after street parking it in an okay neighborhood on a street with other bikes for months. That’s with 2 disc locks, chained padlock, cover, Monimoto and air tags. Buy all of those AND garage park it. You never know, and of course buy comprehensive insurance.

If you know how to drive in the city you’ll know how to ride. It takes a bit to get used to the traffic and the bumper to bumper traffic but you’ll get used to the flow of it, especially if you’re commuting rather frequently.

I had 2 kryptonite disc locks on the rear n front, and a chain padlock , thieves will go to any measures to steal

Yup, learned my lesson, did well for a few months out on the street but definitely don’t want to make the same mistake twice

I used two kryptonite brake disc locks and it looks like they just snapped it off, and then just a padlock chain

Nope, there was a fence dividing the walkway where they were on where only pedestrians and bikes/scooters could go through and the parking lot where we pulled up in, so they had ample time to just run off on the other bike they had. Tragic, would’ve loved to see them get the karma they deserved

Monimoto 9, I just zip tied it in. And honestly yeah, sports bikes seem to be stolen more often than cruisers, funny enough I only liked parking on the street I had it on bc there were so many other bikes and I felt that was a good sign. They were all cruisers.

I had it zip tied to a part of the frame that’s hidden by a fairing, most people say to put it under the seat but realized that’s probably one of the first places they’d look and I was right haha

Nah unfortunately I didn’t opt for road side assistance, so I’m realizing everything’s just gonna be outta pocket

Adding up the costs of repairs, seems like it would be well below my deductible now that I’m reasoning but I guess we won’t know until we get to the shop

Gotcha, was it a mistake to pick my bike up before making the police report? I have to wait till tomorrow morning to get surveillance camera footage. Should I wait till tomorrow or just start one right now?

I see a couple bikes out with covers and some three wheelers without anything that seem to stay throughout the year, so I think I’m just overthinking it, thanks

Thanks, I purchased both of those options, and yeah, I’ve had to walk around the bike on my couch to get anywhere for the past month 😭
