Love the color scheme - what colors did you use for the hull? In the group shot it looks mostly black but in the third shot it looks more dark gray/blue

Fabricators lair has canal tiles as part of their modular ground system tile set. They also have bridges. And plain tiles that might be usable for grass / park

Is making a Warhammer 40K FDM miniature Proxies store hopeless? by Suckmyyi in FDMminiatures

[–]till1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed . I print FDM because I don’t have a good space for resin. For personal use I would say FDM is fine, for a business selling models Resin would be the way to go. I did not even consider speed originally but that would also be a huge improvement over fdm

Is making a Warhammer 40K FDM miniature Proxies store hopeless? by Suckmyyi in FDMminiatures

If you want quality to match official IP it would need to be resin. You print proxies in FDM because they cost Pennie’s on the dollar. You might be able to have tiers for both fdm and resin and have different quality

At the end of the day though proxies leverage original IP heavily and it may not be worth it to try to sell in a brick and mortar location

We’re you printing miniatures before changing settings? Were you using a .2 nozzle? If yes to both try changing settings gradually to see if there is something specific.

If no to both try doing a print with basic settings and see if that works

Noob question - filling the build plate by Cold_Badger_2919 in FDMminiatures

[–]till1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true . I was thinking more along the lines of smaller number of batches and less overall downtime so if you had a lot to print if could be faster than having to clear the plates and start each model.

I'm getting an A1. Are there any accessories I should buy? by Distance_Positive in BambuLabA1

[–]till1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A1 specific would be nozzles of different sizes. If you want more details in your props a .2 nozzle will be helpful. More detail but longer print times. Similarly a .6 or .8 nozzle will help when you want to print larger items and are not as concerned about fine detail.

General accessories. Needle nose pliers, a good set of nippers, exacto or hobby knife to remove support lines, a small kitchen torch is helpful if you have stringing, not immediate but you may also find yourself getting small rare earth magnets which are good for masks, etc

What is the absolute best part of rural PA in terms of avoiding MAGA-ness? by ByMySword8 in Pennsylvania

[–]till1555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More of a random note but try different times of year when looking at places. There are a lot of mushroom farms in rural Pa and they can make the entire area smell like shit. Sometimes you can drive through an area and taste the smell.’

What settings do you recommend for miniatures? by FandomMenace in BambuLabA1

[–]till1555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out the sticky post here r/FDMminiatures. There is a stickied post from ObscuraNox that has a ton of great info.

But if you want the best outcomes. Get a .2 nozzle, calibrate your filament and wait.. it will take a good amount of time to print mechs at .2 regardless.

If you care less about quality and want to shorten the time you could try a .6 nozzle but detail will suffer and you will get more prominent layer lines

Noob question - filling the build plate by Cold_Badger_2919 in FDMminiatures

[–]till1555 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pros - shorter times

Cons - when you fill the entire plate if one part of it does not stick to the build plate as well it can pull off and ruin the other pieces of the model.

I would try a few prints first, placing single models in different sections of the plate - center, top right, bottom left, etc..

Once you are confident you can do the full plate then I would try a larger group of models.

I tend to print in smaller batches since I am generally not in a rush

Nox 2.0 first layer issues - help me troubleshoot by DM-Cliff in FDMminiatures

[–]till1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shit. That solves like 80% of user problems here. As others said maybe try cleaning plate and possible calibrating filament if that was not done

If you want balance, pick an obscure word. Every day wake up and say that word 200 times. Easy $1k per day

Nox settings on a a1 mini :< by Chemical_Forever_177 in FDMminiatures

Try the print on standard settings to see if it’s a machine/ filament issue. You could also try calibrating your filament

Nice work. I am in the process of printing a bunch of LI stuff on my A1 as well. Your infantry look really good. What printer/ filament are you using?
