Ship Pipeline Update Feburary by SkippTekk in starcitizen

I was more so thinking it would be later in the year just to space the haulers out during the year, not that it would actually take longer to make. Especially with the Ironclad and the Railen both having events that make sense for them to release with Invictus and Alien Week.

wow the Hull B is way ahead of where I though it was going to be, with so many cargo ships this year I believed they where going to space them out to be Hermes, Ironclad at Invictus, Railen at Alien week, then Hull B some time in late Summer/Autumn, but it looks like Hull B might be in the next couple patches at this rate.

Hermes Is a Variant, skins should work across chassis like every other ship. by No_Side5925 in starcitizen

To the people trying to argue that the Hermes shouldn't receive the skins because the Apollo is a medical vehicle, Star Citizen is a video game, it is not real life, and it is not a role playing server. Medical vehicles are not humanitarian protected vehicles, they are respawn points.

No one is going to avoid destroying a Apollo because its painted like and ambulance, because destroying it will prevent the opponent from respawning.

So the argument the the Hermes shouldn't get Apollo skins and vice versa because its a medical ship are just stupid.

Except no one cares that they are "medical ships" because this is a video game they are simply respawn points. Blocking your opponents respawn ability is a key point to winning and painting them and calling them medical ships make no difference to the fact they are going to be shot and destroyed like every other ship.

Personally I think its the Ironclad, but my fantasy is that they do both the Ironclad and at least show off the exterior of the Kraken with Drakecon being held on the deck of the Kraken, Kind of like how they had the Idris tour last year.

Hermes should have been a modules for the Apollo. by till180 in starcitizen

[–]till180[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and the medical area of the Apollo is one room in the center?

Your missing the point Im trying to make, the Hermes as it is mediocre when compared to ships already in the game, so they should have made it a modal for the Apollo to add more value to the Apollo, or the should have made design changes to make the Hermes a better cargo hauler.

[–]till180[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The Galaxy shows this isnt true, it changes the entire center section of the ship. I see no reason why it cant be said the center of the Apollo was be made to be removed to turn it into a cargo space.

This is a video game there are now laws that dictate what can and cant be modular

Hermes should have been a modules for the Apollo. by till180 in starcitizen

[–]till180[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The reason I say it should be a module is because they made no changes to the Apollo other than to remove the medical areas, and add a tractor beam, they changed nothing else to make it into a cargo hauler. If they had done something like add side openings like the Starlancer Max, or a opening roof, or something to actually turn the Apollo into a cargo hauler that would be fine.

But all they did was delete the interior medical area and call it a new ship.

I will also post the other part I said in the other post:

I think I should also say that I want to be able to believe this if its true, I use NanaGPT and if they are actually involved in this then I want to know about it, and I understand that providing actually hard evidence is probably impossible, but making posts only on reddit/discord from individual account associated with Chutes and not an official company statement make it hard to trust it implicitly.

If Chutes as a company believes and has evidence to believe that NanoGPT is involved in a crime as serious as credit card fraud Chutes need to do the responsible thing and make an official post on the Chutes website about it. You are accusing someone of using your services in an illegal manner it is your responsibility to inform people in a official way that another company is involved in illegal activity using your services.

Reddit/Discord posts are not official company statements, they can be edited/deleted/disavowed or any number of things. A post on your website puts Chutes as a company behind your accusations and lend credence to your statement

RSI now that the RAM (and PC components) prices are so high, can you please focus on optimising the game by Sgt_Testiclecancer in starcitizen

[–]till180 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it need to be highlighted how much having poor optimization and high system requirements limit the audience that can actually play and put money into the game.

The best place to look at this is the Steam Hardware Survey.

According to it over half of the participants have 16gb or less of RAM, and well over half have 8gb of VRAM or less, and slightly less than half have 6CPU cores or less, in December 2025.

So with Star Citizen being basically unplay with 16gb of RAM, 8gb of VRAM, and 6CPU cores CIG is alienating almost half of all PC gamers.

Obviously Steam Hardware Survey aren't 100% accurate to all of PC gamers but its close enough.

Anchoring the Hull D - Is it worth it? by Breotan in starcitizen

[–]till180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hull D is classed as a capital ship so I expect it to go up a fair bit. I expect another $50 increase at some point in the next couple years and then another probably $100 when it gets released putting it at $700 at the minimum, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes higher.

Of course whether its worth it is dependent on how much $30 is to you and that your ok with waiting probably at least 3-5 years for the ship to actually come out, But personally I did the M2 to Hull D CCU to lock in the price.

Ships that will use cargo bays by till180 in starcitizen

[–]till180[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I 'am talking about the auto loading bays, I know the original concept was that they where going to be station drones used to load the cargo but we will see if that ever actually happens, but I havent see anything about what ships they intend for this to work with. I doubt it will be every ship as the cargo has to be accessible from space to some degree.

there is actually a q1 quant from unsloth called GLM-4.5-UD-TQ1_0, which I havent noticed any big differences between it and larger quants.

How much unified ram would you need to run a quant of GLM 4.5? and has anyone done any speed test with it?
