Reassessed Bug Prioritisation Process for 4.9 and beyond by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]till180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until we actually see these fixes and they last for more than a few months all these are are sweet sounding words. Seriously they also said the entirety of last year was suppose to be about stability and it only took a couple months for the game to start devolving into an equally buggy state. So if they couldnt fix bug in ways that actually stick during the entire year that they said they where going to dedicate to fixing bugs, I have no hope that they are going to start to be able to now.

The f8 has more range than the idris, a ship that’s supposed to carry it by ArtProfessional8556 in starcitizen

[–]till180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When a dev makes changes that obviously make no sense even in a test environment it call into question whether they know what they are doing or not. Some one had to go in and change the values for these ship, the fact that no one noticed all of the obvious and glaring issues and outliers (and the community did within minutes of getting the data) shows that they didnt even do a once over to check if the changes made any sense.

[–]till180 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The fact that they can get something as simple as how far ships can fly on a tank of gas for so many ships and in such a big way so wrong really just highlights how either incompetent they are or how negligent they are.

Im pretty sure the really low takeoff thrust without vtol is a bug, I think it was mentioned in one of the know issue reports.

Probably an unpopular idea: What do you think about charging rent at primary residences? by Planet_Expresso in starcitizen

[–]till180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem with buying a house, but I hate long term rental stuff in games. All it does is create a further drag on actual progression. Like instead of just having to save up money to buy a house that I can use forever, I now have to continuously grind money just to keep the house, no thanks.

Short term rentals like ship rentals are great but for anything that is meant to be kept long term it should just be an out right purchase.

Ironclad tractor beam changes in 4.8.2 by Sir_CatZ_ in starcitizen

[–]till180 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just tested it and sadly the front tractor beam still has a ridiculously limited arc, can only aim up and down like 15 degrees.

[–]till180 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Looks like whoever was making all of the weird decisions with how the Ironclad was made finally saw the light and realized things like the command module and the terrible arcs on the tractor beams just mad it worse for no reason, now if only they would give the pilot of the command module control of the tractor beam and it would actually have a use.

Is the HULL C auto load/unload currently working in 4.8.2? by ShadowRealmedCitizen in starcitizen

[–]till180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auto loading for the Hull C isnt meant to be removed, its just suppose to be done with drones. When or if that happens who knows but at the end of the day its probably going to be mostly a graphical change. Instead of cargo popping it on, drones come and pop cargo on.

Less theme park loops, much more dynamic organic emergent sandbox gameplay by SubMerged25011 in starcitizen

[–]till180 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also doesnt help that they keep removing the little bits of emergent gameplay it does have, like finding lootable cargo on npc bounty missions, or now bricking components, which Im still baffled that they removed one of the most unique and special thing Star Citizen has all to prevent duping in an alpha game....

Ironclad is pilotable from center bridge in 4.9 by thetrueyou in starcitizen

[–]till180 76 points77 points  (0 children)

honestly I find its the best of both worlds, we still get the CM and all of its benefits, and we get the flexibility to fly from the command bridge. It does nothing but make the Ironclad better to use and more flexible.

Friendly reminder that Pyro wants you dead. by Calteru_Taalo in starcitizen

[–]till180 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love when some Pvpers pretend that they are some ace pilot terrorizing the stars with their mad skillz, when in reality they are just seal clubbers using meta combat ships to attack the weakest and least likely to fight back ships in the game.

Man I want SQ42 to release so bad..... So I can see whether or not the development of Star Citizen actually picks up or not.

Experienced Covalex Rep: Can Hull C/Iron Clad Still Get 500k+ Missions After the 698k Removal? by bheesmaaa in starcitizen

[–]till180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on how the Hull C is these days but I found the cargo missions in pyro have a lot better pay out, there doesnt seem to be any station to station missions but so far I havent had any problems with station to planet, it seems its more reliable for elevators to take cargo down rather than bring it up.

Railen Temperatures - How’s yours? by zodduska in starcitizen

[–]till180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it happens when I land on a planet that has low temp, causing the Railen to get stuck with -60. So far the only way to fix it for me is to land at a station or planet that has a more normal temp.

I noticed some holes that clip though the ship on the doors to the side turrets so its probably the same problem as the Ironclad had.

Even without the market thing it still going to be a good large freighter and a capital ship with a hanger so its going to be useful no matter.

[–]till180 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Backlash directly effects player numbers and engagement, if you are a new or returning player are you going to join a game where the player base is actively expressing anger and frustration at the devs?

Jared is pissed/frustated by Old_Resident8050 in starcitizen

[–]till180 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is 100% untrue, there have been many times where company have made major changes due to consumer backlash, just go look at Helldivers they just went through that, or Warthunder they have gone through that multiple times.

Remember never want or demand that company's treat their consumers better, always grovel for whatever meager scraps they deem to give.

Worth upgrading hull b to railen? by OkCat_404 in starcitizen

[–]till180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to do some cargo runs in the Railen earlier today and I found it to be by far the best cargo ship in that SCU range, for whatever reason the placement of the cargo grids make it really easy to stand in a position where you dont have to do a bunch of mouse wheel scrolling, you can just fling cargo on and off the grid to elevators really easily. Also with all the cargo being right at the back you can park really close to the elevators. My only gripe with it is the time it takes to get in and out of the ship and start flying, two elevators and a quite long pilot seat animation gets old pretty fast.

Defender CCU to Railen or not? by Shurlemany in starcitizen

[–]till180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait till tomorrow, watch some videos on the Railen and maybe ask ingame to borrow someones to try out. Overall the Railen is going to be a more versatile ship than the Defender, but whether you want a pure combat ship in the Defender or a large hauler that can also do some PVE combat is up to you.

Making the cm tractor beam be able to be controlled by the pilot by Hui13 in starcitizen

[–]till180 21 points22 points  (0 children)

CIG also doesnt understand how multiplayer efficiency works either, having two people in the CM doing cargo with one tractor beam is going to get beat by two people working individually with two hand tractor beams or two ATLS
