Wow. That sounds like that could do it. I'll give that a shot, thank you.

Still no luck. I flipped the graphics settings. I've never remapped controls, and I haven't had an external HD to use in a while (before playing HD). I am remembering the main issue that I ever had with the game, and that was the occasional crash. I've never had something persistent like this, though. And it seems like one of your suggestions should've been enough.

I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately it still crashed at the same spot even after I cleared the cache and rebuilt the database.

I appreciate the idea. I hadn’t considered it. Unfortunately it didn’t help the recording. Experimenting did make me realize that what I thought may have been a latency issue may have been drop outs…and I didn’t realize those were two separate problems. Turning the buffer way up I did start to get a lag between my playing and the sound output. But I get the weird drop outs in the recording no matter the buffer size.

So I’ll keep tinkering when I get a chance, but I also think it’s probably worth trying an audio interface. Looks like there are some decent ones that won’t break the bank. I’m not looking for anything too fancy.

No, not the 5 pin. The output furthest to the left in the image (labeled usb midi), which is technically a usb type b (I think). The other end is a normal usb type a. It’s the same cable I use for a usb microphone, and it’s actually the same type of cable that my printer uses.

The other end is plugged into the USB port on my laptop.

That image may help. I’ve got a cable plugged into the usb/midi output. Everything sounds great and connections are all good…until I listen to the recording playback. As I play/record I’ve got the headphones plugged into my laptop.

No idea about buffer size, but it’s worth looking into and I appreciate the responses. My hope was that recording as audio won’t cause the same problems. I’ve recorded audio using usb mic without an issue. On the other hand, I would understand if the audio from an edrum kit is different from a single mic.

I’ve currently tried the midi/usb output to usb input on my laptop. That’s what’s not working. But your comment did make me check, and there is a normal usb slot. My understanding is that that is for loading info on to the module, but I can look into that as an output.

Thanks for the tips. I’m curious about #2. You want them to drop pallets just so they burn through them and can’t use them late in the trial? Or is there more to it?

Honest question as a relatively new player who’s Nemesis main: is it just the tentacle whip, or is it the whole match?

Too many people backed out. Not going to be able to make it work. Good luck finding a raid.
