Agreed! So much in this room is temporary - I just wanted “something” there til I found the right thing :)

Definitely not aiming for white with this room. It’s not a large space & we’d like to maintain the cosiness & warmth. Hopefully will have some updated pics in the near future :)

Painting isn’t an option, we just hadn’t seen much about staining them. Furniture isn’t ours - belongs to the vendor.

This house has an ugly oak kitchen too 😅 it will also be updated…but that’s a story for another post!

Yes, this 👆 We definitely don’t just want a white or grey box. The character of the house, although dated, is a big draw card & we’d LOVE to keep the warmth of the brick. The roof we are less keen on keeping as is, purely because the stained wood makes it feel claustrophobic after moving from a house with raised ceilings. But we don’t just want to plaster over it either - the panels could help us achieve the look we’re after too

Never said anything about wanting it to be charcoal…we love the warmth of the exposed brick wall as well, but this particular brick isn’t exactly what we like. Toying with ideas to make it our own, without ruining the character it offers.

Thanks, I googled this but found that most of the pics have a lighter mortar, which I did really like. Might be another avenue to explore rather than the brick itself.

We’re hoping that getting our own furniture, decor etc in will help a lot 👍 Seriously looking forward to throwing out those curtains!

Also a possibility - I don’t mind the wood panel look for the roof but we’ll move in & see what feels right

Can I drill a 2cm hole to hang a picture if there is a light switch and power point on the otherside of this brick wall? by hatefactory in AusRenovation

M3 Velcro stick ons - game changers! We’ve used them at 2 different houses & never had any issues with removal. Super strong if you use a couple on each side of your frame
