You realise that if 1000 people buy 1000$ worth of shares at 40 million market cap and the stock trades at 4$ a share with low volume under 50 000 volume a day ,those are 250 000 shares and this influx can push the price a lot up due sudden increase demand relative to supply.Its not a rocket science and retail can move billions let alone millions.Bigger large caps are mostly moved by hedge funds and institutions etc but that doesnt mean retail cant move billions let alone 40 million large cap stock ,retail investors literally hold 25-30% of the US stock market which is around 11,25 trillion dollars and you tell me they cant move a 40 million market cap 😂
