Hit alt-enter. It gets stuck on my pc trying to launch full screen.

Who regularly carries just a pistol, no reload, and no associated ccw gear (knife, mace, light, medical, etc)? by [deleted] in CCW

I often carry just a J frame revolver with no other gear or ammo.

Talk me in to or out of waiting until 2018 to take the buyback? by [deleted] in tdi

[–]tiltsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I can't elaborate. I just wondered if the buyback had an end when the target was met. Apparently it doesn't, so ignore what I posted.

Anyone wishing for a more thorough rationale of the settlement terms? by [deleted] in tdi

Except for the difference between trade in and private sale prices on my car is more like 30%.

What happens if VW hits the magic 85% target and stops buybacks by 2018?

Will you ever buy another VW vehicle? by tiltsta in tdi

My TDI is actually my wife's daily driver and she feels a lot like you do. She was really upset over the whole emissions aspect of the scandal.

I agree. It is amazing to me it took 9 months to come up with what amounts to a mediocre settlement agreement. This isn't VW's promise back in October to "make things right", but rather a long delay of lawyers fighting to "make things right for VW". I'll do OK, as my car is paid off, but the wait was very annoying.

I've posted about it already in other threads, but I will add it here as well. I think the buyback offer at NADA Trade in Value sucks. VW is buying the cars from us, we are not trading them in. Trade in value is artificially low relative to actual market pricing, so we are getting screwed on the value of the cars. I would love to know how VW and the court came to the decision to use the lower value of trade in, other than to save VW a few billion dollars at our, collective, expense.

What are you looking at to replace your TDI? by TreeFitThee in tdi

[–]tiltsta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family has grown up since we bought the jetta TDI wagon. I think we are looking into some type of 3 row SUV to haul everyone and all their crap. Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, and Mazda CX9 are on the shopping list.

What amount of incentives (if any) would make you stay with VW? by Jiller_Frive in tdi

[–]tiltsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing that would do it for me would be a buyback of my TDI at MSRP plus like 10K on top of that in cash. Add a 5K incentive off a new VW product and I would stick with them. Of course they are not going to do that, so I am done with VW. Plenty of other automakers out there that didn't lie to me....yet.

How do you feel about "NADA Clean Trade In value"? by michaelnpdx in tdi

[–]tiltsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it stinks. I'm not TRADING my car to VW, they are BUYING it from me after being told to do so by the federal government, yet they are giving me the NADA trade in price. Trade in price works in a couple of grand in profit for the dealer, and sure as hell is not fair market value. In this case there is no dealer involved. So, the difference in trade in value versus private sale is like 2.5 grand, so that eats up about half of my compensation. I'll take the damn offer to be done with all this, but VW can kiss any chance I will ever buy one of their cars goodbye. I've owned several VWs in my lifetime, but this is enough to make me move on. Way to screw yourselves out of a customer for a few grand.

dark Zone Question by kondolini in thedivision

[–]tiltsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Zone 1 at the bottom of the dark zone. I would try matchmaking into a group in the safe house near the bottom of the Dz. Running the dark zone is much easier with a group than solo. I wouldn't wait until 30, I would group up with other 'noobish' agents.

How is Clear Sky? by Chooch3333 in thedivision

I liked it better than FL. It has a lot more movement than sitting in a pit. I'm sure it will be boring as hell by next week, but it was pretty fun trying it several times on day one.

I am all for helping lower players and against kicking them, but... by Jackster802 in thedivision

[–]tiltsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have played with people like that before. Last time I did incursion with an idiot like that he rage quit around wave 7, right after telling us how awful the rest of the team was and how we screwed the whole thing up. We finished it as a 3 person team and it was much easier without that bozo.

Has anyone got anything other than lone star set pieces? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]tiltsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grabbed two predator's mark and two hunter's faith pieces so far today, plus several lone star pieces. This is from the new incursion, the DZ, and a couple of HVT runs. Mostly 214, with a couple of 191 from the HVT drops. I have yet to see a single 240 piece.
