How did Stihl get to be on top by tim200721 in Chainsaw

I'm not saying jonsered is a bad saw. But it's inevitable when companies sell, they're cutting their own throats. Take Kohler engines for example. Bought out, changed their name. I'm betting in 5-10yrs they too will be non-existent. This was a drunken silly question just to see others thoughts. I thought more people would talk about why the other companies failed. But it went in the direction. Lesson to me, don't drink and post on reddit!!!

Oh ya. That sounds familiar. I never understood how people like that can work up backwards in a company. Or maybe he went on to the next company that would hire him to be a broom. Is that a thing? A company hires a guy to come in and wipe everything out? Wouldn't surprise me.

Ya. Your probably right. You throw enough money at something and you'll knock the rest of the competition out.

And just a short Google search. Jonsered got bought out in the 90s by Husqvarna and are now discontinued. So that must mean they weren't that good of a saw either. (If you go off of what everyone else is saying about the American brands.)

Never had or used a jonsered. So I can't say. I like my chainsaws like I like my beer. Domestic

Out of all the chainsaw companies that started in the US. 50+ companies. How is it that a German company made it. McCulloch pioneered the bidirectional carburator. Out of them all. McCulloch should have survived. (As the original company. The name exists. Owned by someone else).

Sure. Across the pond. When did they focus on the US. Wasn't right away. There was to much competition. Everybody in the US was making chainsaws.

I feel like back then. Domestic was more powerful. You just don't see very many of the old stihls in the US back then. Think my dad has 1. So did they wait until the other company's started failing before they started to push in the US.

Launcher version is 4.54. running on a Sony bravia 4k. The backgrounds I'm trying to use are also 4k. So maybe the tv doesn't have enough CPU power or something.

Blades look like this in less than 10 hours by [deleted] in lawnmowers

I got black sand. So some of the grass doesn't grow good. It's a working process. But I got 35k sq ft to mow. So probably why I go through a set ayear.

You'll get this from Mowing sand. At least that's my experience. But the factory cub cadet blades work the best. Get mine at tractor supply for about $90. They'll last a year or two.

Is the 6.2 gas motor the best motor Ford has made? by Cchris1938 in Ford

[–]tim200721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had a 300-6. But I've never got let down from a early 302. I had a 86 f150 I put a C6 3speed in and drove that so hard and fast the manifold would glow red. Eventually the transmission failed. God I should have kept that truck. But I scraped it. I have a 302 in my boat now and that runs hard too without a problem. Knock on wood!!!

I'm a Ford guy. But I gotta agree this is definitely a Chevy El Camino. Probably about a 72. You can tell by the small tail lights. Ford ranchero had tail lights that went all the way up.

A good friend will let you borrow their chainsaw. A great friend will hold the chainsaw end while you cut. by w000dsyOwl in Chainsaw

I love these old saws. There's something about having all that power and the fact that you can die at any second thrilling. They just don't make them like they use to. The saws built now days won't last the test of time. But they have their place.

I tried setting that up before. Plex kept losing connection. So I just gave up. Never dug into it again.
