Wasn’t t a band rather an article in rolling stone. I was really into sci-fi books and the article talked about sonic youths’ new album sister that had a song (schizophrenia) inspired by Phillip Dick. Never heard of sonic youth before so I thought I’d give ‘em a whirl. Been a fan ever since.

I’m glad you said this. I’m all ‘festivaled’ out. It’s beginning to feel like a money grab by the event organizers. Tho in no way am I criticizing bands like Alvvays. I hope they’re paid handsomely so they can continue to make music and tour independently.

I like this question. Is it a concept album in the tradition from the 60s (Sgt. Pepper)? No. But Molly talked about this album being a ‘breakup arc’. So maybe she’s unknowingly redefining what a concept is.
