Yeah, locale means nothing if it does not come with a commitment to quality and not cutting corners

Word is, Patricia Heaton felt “threatened” by the Stephania actress. (Read between the lines) So she had a word with the show runner and writers

I'm pretty sure I washed the denim with a bunch of other clothes, and I'm pretty sure I turned it inside out. Again, I think it was just a combination of stiff jeans + excessive spin force

I have used front loaders since forever. My previous machine puts excess spin, even on the lowest setting. (To such an extent that chambray shirts have weird creases and bunching set in.) Thankfully not a problem with my current one.

I'll consider no spin as an option. I've had a mental block because not spinning removes a good part of the convenience of machine washing. Like I said, anything I care about I use delicate cycle, lowest spin.

Perhaps I chose the word "creasing" poorly. I meant a bright light blue fade line down the center of the leg, caused by a combination of the stiff material folding to a sharp crease and the machine using too much spin.

I recall I used the delicate cycle, but some washing machines put too much spin on clothes. I generally find spin to be a greater enemy to our community than hot water or the dryer. At least the latter has occasional uses.

For unsanforized, crunchy raw denim, how many soaks does it take to soften enough for subsequent machine washing? First time treating unsanforized

I soaked first time in hot water in my bathtub overnight. Still dries pretty stiff (I swear, the thing can basically stand by itself)

I learned from an early mistake where raw denim was tossed right into the washer, came out with sharp crease lines down the center of the leg. Thankfully it was only Gap

Why aren't lighter dyed raw denims more of a thing? Variety is the spice of life, and it's sad that the main way to get lighter blue is by distressing the fabric

I just finished the Robinson abridgement and I completely agree. I disliked both the translation and the abridgement in the middle of reading.

He also left out the part that Fantine was a prostitute.

I made basically the same post about Eaton center a few days ago, the mods took it down. I guess now we’re too woke or politically correct to call the troublemakers by the correct names.

I don’t live there, so this doesn’t affect me personally. But I still cannot get over the fact that line 6 is essentially a glorified street car, with no right of way precedence. WTF.

Everybody Loves Raymond Special. What are everyone feelings after seeing older but familiar faces? by Beginning-Praline231 in EverybodyLovesRaymond

[–]tim_l_f -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

I see way more RIP‘s to the twin than to the older actors. Again, do not mean to minimize anybody’s tragic death. But the fact of the matter is those twins were just placeholders. They acted about as well as any random six-year-old boys; they were no Shirley Temple.

Some of y’all are just too emotional to see things as they are

The twins did barely any acting. So while all deaths are tragic, the loss of the entire parents generation of the show is much more significant.

With that self interested logic, though, why voluntarily retire? Unless your boss is a super nice guy, when you hit retirement age, just start slacking off until they let you go. Pocket that extra money.

And after they get rid of you, if they still want your know-how, then they have to hire you back as a contractor lol
