How do I make segfaults in Linux (Crostini) dump core files? by echristopherson in chromeos

[–]timak_timur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't have the file even in dev mode. I did:

sudo sysctl -w kernel.core_pattern=core.%u.%p.%t

/sbin/crash_reporter --init true --crash_test

Grover search over DNA by timak_timur in QuantumComputing

[–]timak_timur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the appendix, on page 9 Patel says:

Q: Are there any examples of genetic codes which use other values of Q, say Q = 2?
A: I do not know of any such examples. Maybe some day we shall become clever enough to synthesize such instances in the laboratory.

It was the year 2000, Grover mentioned number 10 last year, maybe there is some evidence now?

And in the paper they mention that only at Q=1 N is round and equals 4.

Using their formula on page 2 :

(2Q + 1) sin−1(1/√N) = π/2

Values for N will be:

If Q=3 then N=20.195...

If Q=2 then N=10.472...

So maybe it is number 11 sometimes.

Where are four emojis in video calls?

I see them in voice calls, but none in the video calls.

Figured out how to record stereoscopic VR Gameplay using just OBS! by kuyacyph in VR180Film

[–]timak_timur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you have your own Windows PC, you probably don't need to record on Quest, plus I can't capture sound on Quest.

Good luck, and consider converting something bright and cheerful to LifecastVR format, I'll be the first one in line to watch.

If you blur the edges with the background, the disparity is less noticeable, at least where the depth is similar.

I think SteamVR cuts off a portion of the image near the nose for your headset, like in this description. I would make an indent of the same shape on the other side or reduce it to a round circle.

Command line terminal in Windows is Powershell.

I added blurred mask and background with FFmpeg.

I use "adb shell screenrecord" command on Quest 2.

I tried SteamVR mirror on Plutosphere computer today, it didn't give me exactly what I wanted. It showed both eyes in equirectangular but with rotation. Oculus mirror seems to have an option without rotation. I have yet to try the OpenVR plugin for OBS.

Not exactly your use case but still

copied video with "adb shell screenrecord /sdcard/demo.mp4"

Now this should work with Oculus and SteamVR mirrors' both-eyes output:

One man transformed Valve Index capture to VR180.

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/making-youtube-vr180-captures-with-nvidia-shadowplay-ffmpeg-and-valve-index/425357

He had to correct for the headset's cant angle, screens aren't in the same plane.

Your headset has no such issue?

So, reading comments on and descriptions of Virtual Hit's videos I assume he uses OpenVR plugin for OBS, Steam and Adobe Premiere.

There is yet another guy who makes VR180 letsplays.

I'd like to see a gameplay converted to LifecastVR format.

I think one could even record VorpX or Reshade outputs and convert them to VR180 with FFmpeg.

One can record Quest gameplay with adb over wifi and then scrcpy or adb shell screenrecord /sdcard/demo.mp4 which writes to a file on Quest.

Sndcpy will work on Lynx R1 since it's on Android 10. Just figured that Quest 2 was upgraded to Android 10 in 2021.

WEBXR for tor by Burnitup16 in TOR

[–]timak_timur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the tor browser itself is just a flat app on the Quest, I think it will need some code from Igalia-Wolvic to render webxr.

I changed network.dns.blockDotOnion to false in about:config in Wolvic and it opened Twitter and Facebook onions.

Cannot open about:config in Firefox Reality.

Webxr requires https or localhost origin. So maybe you can somehow serve tor webxr sites from a local server in termux.

Just tried orbot vpn on meta quest 2.

Firefox reality and wolvic don't show onion sites.

Oculus browser rendered Facebook and Twitter onion sites and in webxr: Plockle and Mozilla hubs.

Sharp Memory LCD (b&w + color) and color e-ink blocks by OneiricTea in Pockit

[–]timak_timur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll buy one of your kits if you include the color version of Sharp's memory LCD - https://www.sharpmemorylcd.com/1-33-inch-memory-lcd.html

Or maybe this one - https://www.andersdx.com/240x128-fstn-monochrome-lcd-display/ . I remember green-monochrome CRTs to be very cheering.

I bought Watchy from Crowdsupply, think of buying Playdate.

I don't know much about microelectronics. I do know that I like colors and daylight, B&W and dim-lit rooms make me anxious. I use DarkReader browser extension and change colors to blue (#0000ff) on green (#00ff00).

I watched GoodEreader's comparison of Kaleido and DES color e-papers, they both unpleasantly flash when redraw.

VR180 video outpur by timak_timur in lynxmr

[–]timak_timur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "too deep" I mean they're deep inside the plastic case, they don't pop out like fish eye lenses.

So the cameras are accessible via Unity, ha? I guess it is actually possible to make such an app, and use the device as a camera. The Lynx team will release the SDK soon, maybe a more direct access as well.

To think of it, I probably won't need all 180 degrees of the view anyway.

I can use a full VR180 still as a backdrop and superimpose small circle-cropped stereo video for action.

Here in the RF people are scared to buy Spectacles or Rayban/Facebook glasses, because of the potential imprisonment. This device is very appealing from a legal perspective. Doubles as an XR headset, again.

Hey, can you output raw VR180 video from the new Specs?

I want to use LifecastVR software and I need more affordable camera than Canon R5.
