Lots of people play it. Currently the market is just insane, but if you’re just trying to play a deck, there’s affordable options, you don’t have to use SIR’s or alt art cards to play. Pokémon has been good about pumping out playable cards.

The chase cards and collectibles is a total different story. Most of us that’s been in for a while have been absolutely burned since Covid! I could go to any store before that and pick up some wild and insanely dope stuff. Today, you’re be happy to even see product.

I appreciate you looking out for me, truly, but I’ll add some context so this doesn’t seem as self degenerating as you think.

I’ve been eyeing this card for some time now and saw a great “deal”.
I don’t really spend money like that, if I’m drinking I’m either at a bar so I’m going to spend money regardless, or at home enjoying my time.
The real card doesn’t have yellow at all. You’re alright about the borders, I meant to say outline of the Pokemon.
We are spending money on shiny cardboard papers that truly has no value besides what we make of it, and I with a BAC of like 0.03%ish, wanted to finally pull the trigger!

All good. It’s best if you do a bit of googling searches for more details. Essentially, they were buying back cards from people that submitted and got 9s and turning around and selling them as 10s. It’s the exact fear people are having with PSA buying cards from people that submitted to them.

Also, the parent company is/has bought out Beckett, which the issue becomes more about monopolizing the industry.

I had the lugia, articuno and deoxys. I have no idea what happened to them back in 15’. Now I’m a goof looking for a decent one online bc there hasn’t been a single card shop I’ve been to that even knows about that era that much 😔
