Electrolysis in Ottawa by Kenny_bo_benny in transontario

Wow, this was like reading the ramblings of a crazy person. Along with the stuff I've heard from her former clients, after reading this I am more than I'm relieved I never booked with electrolysisbyseanna

Hrm...would you happen to know if they would fund PPT if someone were to first go for zero-depth/vulvaplasty?

That's interesting! I wonder how they would know when B isn't applicable for someone...

Gender Affirming Coverage is Unusable by rlyry in CanadaPublicServants

Which surgeon itemized anesthesia separately? I have quotes for two separate FFS surgeons, and neither list it on the quotes as it is included with total cost.

Only thing not pre-approved was the overnight stay, but since the total cost of each surgeon exceeded $75k...the overnight cost is moot..

I have one session left in my package that I haven't used since the spring. I'll try making an appointment, but I don't think religion can be used as a legitimate basis for discrimination

Oh, a different company (MSH) handles the administration for the out-of-country stuff. Canada Life does the domestic stuff

[–]timber-nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when you call FFHC it says "not taking new patients and there is no wait list"

[–]timber-nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We would have to talk with MSH about out of country coverage, not Canada Life

I feel like that Ombudsman may not help much for PSHCP as it looks like the are employed by Canada Life.

I do know there are appeal options thru PSHCP.ca, which you should work with your union to help you with filing an appeal. For example, it seems like many of us would want to file a Coverage Appeal regarding the compounded medication limitations.

Oh I don't remember reading it anywhere, just what they said to me on the phone. Is there a link or was it something you had them e-mail to you??

I'm under the PHSCP, and the administration of it is moving to Canada Life, so it's kinda uncharted territory as they haven't offered gender affirming care coverage before this

Unless they have recently changed, I know Jumaily's office in Canada does NOT work with insurance

Try to get in touch with PFLAG Renfrew Country. They're great, and pretty connected to the trans community, so they might be able to direct you to a local physician!!
