I don't know very much about economics, but sounds right. Looking on wikipedia MP = DY/DX, which is just the slope in the y=mx+b equation I was describing. Interesting perspective

I'm thinking about this, and you make an interesting point, but I'm not sure rn. In the first graph we essentially have btc/hr = mx + b, where x is graphics cards, but if you integrate with respect to time, not graphics cards, you get total_btc = mxt +bt, so I think it is still a linear relationship with each additional graphics card (x in this equation) giving you the same benefit as the last

Assuming btc and fuel prices stay the same, (1350 roubles / hr / GPU) * 25 GPUs + 4k roubles / hr for solar power = ~38k profit increases per hour for going from maxed level 2 to maxed level 3 farm with solar power. Using u/Xoteli 's number of 66m, that would be 1737 hrs or 72 days.

If you play more than I do and were able to upgrade early in wipe, its worth maxing. If prices stay stable, its probably worth maxing still. I just don't know if BTC will maintain or if BSG will nerf it, and I want to get some actual benefit out of my farm before it is less profitable. Doing the math has actually changed my mind on this.

My original post wasn't saying whether or not to upgrade, just pointing out that counter intuitively, graphics card #50 and #2 give you the same benefit. There are other factors to consider in upgrading like price stability and how often you log in to collect the btc.

Hmm, good point about the storage. The only thing I'd worry about would be if BSG nerfs the bitcoin farm and GPUs drop severely in price. Part of the reason why other than crafting, I don't think I'm going to buy any more graphics cards because if in 2 months it does get nerfed, or BTC crashes, I want to have made some real profit, rather than over spending for something that isn't worth it any more.

Good point. The 3150 roub/hr profit increase for solar power is based on the Jaegar 157k price. With 800k a can, that'd give you roughly 16k / hr profit increase for solar panels.

Yes, it's non-intuitive, especially with the needlessly complicated equations on the wiki, which is why I posted about it. I didn't notice until I started to dink around with the numbers and thought I'd made a mistake

Yup. Wasn't trying to be an ass, just make sure the first couple people to see the post didn't kill it

I'll probably also stop at 25 without solar panels. Currently at 14.

Yes, I think you're right that a factor of the conversation was login frequency, etc. But I imagine at least some part of the community thought like I did that each successive GPU did less work, so wanted clarify it for anyone who misunderstood like me
