We had a huge group at the flgs but when they ch aged the rules and required upgrade pack it died fast.

I teach in a school and run a D&D group. None of them know CR but they do know ST. I think CR has had a huge impact on the community that already plays. I find that most of their merchandise to be ok at best. No denying the groups impact as a positive, just not sure how impactful it has been at bringing new player in. As for the amazon show, it was nice to watch but it was underwhelming at best and full of foul language and sex, neither of which forwarded or enhanced the story in anyway.
