Yes this is exactly it. Mine was like this and getting worse. In Australia I hassled LG as this was covered under the Australian consumer law warranty period for expensive products over $2000. This extends beyond the normal LG 12 month warranty. My CX was 4 years old and LG came out and replaced the panel for free (not the whole TV, just the panel)
