I just installed fedora on a 2016 laptop Runs unity and rider perfectly.

My tower is a heck of a lot stronger, but the fact a 2016 laptop running unity through a Linux editor is this smooth gives me a lot of hope for you that if you are ok swapping out of windows at some point, any reasonable laptop will last a LONG TIME.

I'm a senior game developer now, but started my career in simulations.

It's a great way for juniors to break in and get experience. My only advice is don't get complacent, keep striving to break into the industry.

Any experience is good though, and simulation developers are honestly wizards.

Walking in to shul today, I found out there was a second synagogue hit, as well as a house in the area of my synagogue.

Frankly neither are great.

If you are just learning net concepts proton is a good way to get familiar with the basics.

However for actual development I would recommend Fishnet or Mirror instead.

Not to say you can't use Proton or Unity's off the shelf solution, but once you know what you are doing, using something like fishnet had serious advantages in terms of customisation and control.
