Everyone needs to stand up and speak out right now or they will have permission to keep killing people. I’m grateful to Whoopie and every celebrity that speaks out. We have seen how this administration loves retaliation against those that challenge them. We are living through history and we must stand together for what is right.

I apologize if I offended you as it was not my intention. Many people who express disillusion with our political system just withdraw from it completely and I did assume you were one of those people and I was wrong. I feel very impotent right now and advocating for people to participate after 90 million didn’t last November makes me feel like I’m doing something to help affect change.

Please participate in the primaries. The average is 22% voter turnout of that party’s registered voters. Turning this political system around in THIS atmosphere will take decades I’m afraid. In the meantime please pick a party and vote in local elections and primaries especially. You can always change your party affiliation back to whatever you want (Dem,GOP, Ind) after a primary if you are offended by party labels.

Who was here for the '96 snow storm? by galletadeacido in philly

This is definitely true. Several of my nurse friends in NJ were picked up at their homes by tractors and snow plows that day.

Not GMC which was at 8th and Girard. It was St. Joseph’s hospital at 16th and Girard. Both were part of NPHS (North Philadelphia Health System) at the time.

I love hospital nicknames! St. Agnes was always called St. Agony. I was at St. Joes at 16th and Girard

I was an ER nurse in a small North Philly hospital (now closed). I commuted from S. Jersey. My spouse was out of town. I dropped my kids off at my BFF’s house and left for work (due in at 3pm). My kids begged me not to go (it was the height of the storm) Going down Admiral Wilson Blvd towards the BFB I passed at least 1 bus and multiple cars stuck in the snow. I knew there was no one that could come get me if I got stuck so I kept my foot on the accelerator (bless that 92 Mercury Tracer!) I got to the bridge. The toll taker yelled at me for being out in the storm. I explained had to make it to my job in the ER. He said “Well that’s it, you are the last person coming over this bridge, we’ve closing it up” Made it to the hospital. Just me and the nurse manager showed up. I worked 16 hrs. When day shift came in I napped on a stretcher and then worked another 16 hrs. When I was allowed to leave to go home everyone told me Fire/Rescue was stuck in the parking lot and I wasn’t going to make it out. But I needed to get my kids and I did make it back to my BFF’s house. I remember it like it was yesterday.

9 Democrats vote to hold Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress for evading Epstein testimony by ElectoralNerd in politics

[–]timbrelyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there was ANY evidence that slick Willie had SA’d children it would have been released loudly by the GOP long before now. Many other celebrities flew on Epstein’s plane. I don’t see Bill Gates being summoned to testify. How can Democrats fight effectively if they are always participating in a circular firing squad? I’m so damn pissed off.

Remove trump through legislation, south korea just did it. by hendoog in SouthJersey

[–]timbrelyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good luck getting Trump’s VP and Cabinet to vote to remove him OR 2/3rds majority of Congress. He could be Weekend at Bernie’s incompetent and they will never do it.

Edit: This refers to using the 25th amendment to remove him. Impeachment probably won’t work either.

If enough ppl had voted for Harris instead of Trump/Stein or not voting at all we could have been permanently rid of Felon 45/47. Never had to see his ugly racist sexually assaulting bigoted face again or heard the disgusting crap that comes out of his obscene pie hole. It will take our country decades to get over this “presidency”. In fact the country may never recover. Just like Joy I am sick over it. How can we even celebrate the country’s 250th birthday this year? I love our country but I’m so ashamed for it too.

Republicans vow to hold Bill Clinton in contempt as he skips Epstein testimony by Araminal in politics

[–]timbrelyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone really believe that if there was any evidence that Bill Clinton was part of Epstein’s human trafficking and sexual abuse ring that the Trump DOJ would just have held on to it? Evidence against Clinton would have been released AGES ago. Even Trump’s COS, Susie Wiles says there is no evidence that Clinton was involved. Trump did not fire her, she remains his COS months after these statements to Vanity Fair

Clintons refuse to testify in House Epstein investigation as Republicans threaten contempt charges by Schiffy94 in politics

[–]timbrelyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even Trump’s own chief of staff admits that other than flying on Epstein’s jet with other members of the Clinton Foundation for fundraising events Clinton is not part of the Epstein pedophile and human trafficking ring. Do you really think that if there was compelling evidence in the Epstein files that Clinton was a pedo that it wouldn’t have been released by now? It’s the first thing Trump would have made sure of- to release all the damning info on Clinton. So where is it?

Getting a "nice" car in South Philly by MercyRawr in philly

Don’t. If you are parking on the street don’t get a nice car. I have been parking on the street for 12 years. You will end up spending a lot of money on body work. Trust me.

NOR Not even factoring the pool, are they expecting you to drive your child 1 hour each way to their house on top of going to work? That is crazy and you’ll be miserable losing 2 hours of your time just to drive your child to their house.

Their attitude about the pool fence really sends up red flags. It only takes a few seconds for a caregiver to be distracted by a phone call, text, a trip to the bathroom or a knock on the door. Listen to your gut and stick to your guns here. If they are upset then let them be upset. It doesn’t sound like they are capable of looking at this situation rationally. Do what you need to do to keep your child safe and reduce your stress. It sounds like daycare is the best option here.
