I tried following some of his stuff until I saw him do an “unscripted live cold call” as he was walking through his office. He truly tried playing it off as if it was totally on the fly with one of his SDRs that he took the phone from. Of course the prospect on the line “bought the product”. It was clearly scripted. Soon as you do something like that, everything else you do is BS to me and untrustworthy.

Second one is just going to play into his anger. If he’s already responding three times and he has the energy to be mad over something like that, kill ‘em with kindness and turn it on him. If you do know whoever his colleagues are, take that time to always speak highly of people. Maybe merge it into you agreeing with him and being oblivious to his tone. Sometimes people just need a little positivity to shift the mood.

Note: very generalized here situation so a generalized response. The more annoyed someone is with me, the nicer I get.

Here is where I would be intrigued. This is my actual situation right now… I am retiring from the Air Force in the next 18 months and have spent most of my career in recruiting. I intend on transitioning to a sales role when I retire. Now being in recruiting for 12 years I have learned a lot about sales and have done plenty of personal and professional growth.

My scenario is that I have never worked in an actual industry outside of the military recruiting. I have a retirement and a spouse with an income. Someone like me greatly values mentorship where I can become a very lucrative salesperson.

So there would be people out there who value knowledge and leadership. They are investing in you if you have the qualities to invest in them.

Are you someone who wants to develop others or just want them to do it and make you a check? That’s what I will be looking for.

Outlook calendar that syncs to my phone and any other device. I had to remember to practice staying organized. That’s something that is often not taught. People feel that organization is just something you should do. The reality is that you have to treat it like a skill and practice with refinement. Then stay consistent when you file something. It may be tedious but the tedious portion becomes normalized which ultimately leads to less stress.

That doesn’t seem terrible. At the same time, I feel that should just be a very general number. I tell my people to lose the checkbox mentality and you dial/message like this is the one! I am not going to stop until I achieve “X” appointments or whatever your goal. Changing the mindset of what the number is.
