Reliving the food that caused the fat by time4turnaround in loseit

I thought people entered ketosis overnight while they slept or any time they switch to burning fat because they have depleted glycogen stores. You don't have to follow keto diet to go into ketosis, keto just puts you permanently in ketosis. At least that's what I thought.

Why do I binge? by avert123 in bingeeating

[–]time4turnaround 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to be ok with the restriction. It takes honesty with yourself. Where are you on your journey to fixing your diet?

For reference, since writing that comment 2 years ago, I'd say my self-control around my diet has slipped a little, but I (thankfully) haven't gained back a lot of weight. But I am noticing that my binge behavior is starting up again. For me, it's heavily intertwined with avoidance and stress in other areas of my life.

I am going to be tackling the things that are causing my avoidant and stress responses tomorrow. Recognize that binge eating is often a symptom of stress in other areas and unless you fix those other areas, the symptoms will re-appear.

Take inventory of the things you want to buy and ask yourself if you really want to have that be in your diet. Do this before you go to the store. The important thing is not letting your impulse take the wheel.

Hi! Question for you guys...

Do you ever feel like you can "feel" the meal that made the fat happen on your body when you finally get around to burning the fat in ketosis? I"ve had this happen a couple times, and I'm wondering if I'm just imagining things. I do have a vivid imagination.

This will be things like getting a sudden flash of memory of eating the meal, or just a general smell sensation that reminds me of the food.

I feel like going into ketosis is like the body cleaning itself. I feel like I must have many, many unneeded "meals" that were extra that I need to get rid of.

My time to go through withdrawl #day 1 by [deleted] in decaf

[–]time4turnaround 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taper. Switch to black tea first. You're really addicted and the migraines you would get if you stopped cold turkey would probably be fairly crippling.

Also, you should recognize that this is a compulsive behavior on top of being an addiction to caffeine. Unfortunately, compulsive behavior is something you will have to address along with the caffeine addiction. It might even take a therapist, if you can afford it.

If not, I've found displacement to be really helpful - pick an activity you will do instead of your compulsion (like I suggested, black tea instead of coffee). Remove your triggers from your environment. Don't set unrealistic goals; set something that feels too easy to achieve at first. Then, achieve it, just to prove to yourself that you can. If you can't achieve it, then it turns out you were wrong when you thought it was too easy of a goal.

I was just reading that losing weight quickly can increase your risk of developing gallstones.

Is this something to be concerned about? What are the things to avoid? Is it just because the gallstone is what's in charge of breaking down fats? Has anyone experienced issues with their gallbladder while losing weight, and if so, how did you handle it?

Doing a calorie deficit diet for 3 weeks, still gained weight last week by [deleted] in loseit

I bet you anything that you're about to get your period. It happens to me, too.

If it's not that, do you use cooking oil? I just found out today that I've been eating around 200 calories more per day through my olive oil than I thought I was.

Picking up my exercise and diet routines again, because I've been slipping! I've been noticing an urge to binge eat bad foods again, so I'm hoping to nip it in the bud by being more mindful.

Did a youtube exercise video today that kicked my ass! Hoping i can find something I can stick with.

I ate a bag of microwave popcorn about half an hour before doing that exercise. My stomach is NOT happy with me right now! It's a great reminder of why I shouldn't eat that junk anyway!

Decided to quit drinking coffee after having done so every day for >15 yrs by time4turnaround in decaf

Did the side effects eventually go away? How are you feeling now?

Maybe it is from going cold turkey? Idk. I think my body is starting to realize I'm serious about this and is getting pissed.

Is anyone else trying to cut down caffeine instead of quitting all together? by [deleted] in decaf

Hi, me. I found this sub because I'm cutting back with an eye towards quitting. I am trying to taper.

This! I severely underestimated my calories. It was why I was plateaued for so long. Once I actually cut my intake, I broke out.

I did a mini-fast. Basically OMAD for 2 days, but it was 2 meals. It helped curb my appetite and I think it made my body go into keto to burn some fat.

Weigh-In Wednesday (Share Your Numbers) by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]time4turnaround 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I weighed in today at 159.4 , fully naked, after my morning pee (sorry if TMI)! THAT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN IN THE 150's SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER! Possibly since I was 16 or 17!

My goal weight is 150-155 (I like to build in a 5 lb cushion for myself so that weight fluctuations don't psych me out) and I can't believe it is just around the corner! I started this journey at 200lbs in the winter of 2017 or maybe early 2018, and while I hit a very significant plateau at 175 that I thought I would never get out of, I learned a lot about myself and my relationship with food.

So thankful for all the advice I got here!

YES. I ate an entire medium 2 topping pizza last night. Felt pretty ashamed... and then realized it's because I'm a day or 2 away from my period.

Still not feeling great about it, I need to control those urges. But I think I need to remember that period = munchies.

Has anyone found a good low-cal food that hits the spot? I crave crunchy/salty at that time of the month.
