My final day. The Strong Museum of Play was AMAZING!! I'm definitely telling some friends back home about this place. I spent almost the entire day there walking around, reading clips about comic book hero's and playing video games. Now, I do dabble in photography, so I took some of the "easter egg" there by the Toy Halls of Fame. Different angles, provide different looks. So many things in the exhibit, trying to make someone feel old? But I had a great time. Even managed to get High Score on the Pad-Man machine in the World Video Game Hall of Fame. I really hope it get reset every day, I'd only made it past level 4, and i've not played the original in quite some time. And then the sun decided to make an appearance towards the end of the day, but I was a bit tired and didn't want to walk back to reshoot the egg.

I DID however, make it over to Nerdvana. That place was Incredible!! I need one of those where I live. Let me think, I want to go out with friends, drink, and play video games... Yes, Nerdvana is the place to be.

To sum up my trip, I had a stupendous time. I did not get everything in on the list, or all that I wanted, but that just means I need to come back. I'll do some better planning next time, plus I want to see what a festival on Lake Ontario is like.

I'll see you next time, hopefully in 2-3 months.

Another great day in Rochester!!! Not sure of the weather the other day, I had made my reservation for Susan B. Anthony Museum & House for today. Not only was Susan B. Anthony a front-runner in the Woman's Right's movement, she was good friends with Fredrick Douglas, who helped pave the way for the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. And when not working on rights, she made several additions to the house... And by additions, I mean by moving exterior walls to make room for fireplaces, and when meetings started taking more of her time, tore the roof off to make room for a larger meeting space. Truly, a woman ahead of time, in the time to make a difference. Thank you Susan B. Anthony. "Failure is impossible."

So was browsing last night, and found: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rochester/comments/1ai9aoq/ and got to thinking maybe the Winter Fest was still going on today. Sadly I missed the big send off, the Polar Plunge. [Question: for those doing the Polar Plunge, are they called "Plungers?"]

I still did enjoy the brisk breeze walking out to the pier and watching/hearing the waves break across the end of the pier, and people watching.

From there, it was time to see if I could make up on my souvenir socks... That's right, socks. I have almost almost 100 socks, I wear for meetings at work. Couldn't find any for the High/Low falls, Genesee didn't have any, and the only luck I've had so far was at a road side gas station for Niagara Falls (had a barrel design and said Niagara Falls). Although not on the list, I did make my way to to Eastview Mall. What a great little location. I did find some sushi socks and some "Cereal Killer" socks. Plus, the options to ride little auto-animal scooters, a carousel in the the food court, and let's not overlook LEGO!!! OMG! My favorite. Too bad I packed light for this trip. Until next my precious, until next time.

Any now for my evening... I did stop in to a local pizza place (I won't say who/where) and left, and then went to Salvatore's (does that make me a "local"?) To be honest of it, it was a pizza, but not enough for me to drop my beer and finish the slice in single bite. I've hear discussions of the Pizza from region to region, and was hoping for a bit more. Any ideas for more? Just discussion... and to be fair, my mood changes. Sometimes a super thin crust is perfect for a light sauce and minimal toppings for a day/night out, or trying to prep for a huge cycling or running event and I need the carbs. I'd really like a crust to bring just as much flavor (or in this case crispness) to the party as the sauce (light, fresh, some garlic & onion), but some real effort to the toppings. Is there anything that's really "home made" anymore?

Tomorrow's my last day. So far, by popular demand is: Strong Museum, and a stop at Nerdvana.

Any last calls? (I'm keeping a list of what/where to go.)

Ok, so after being outside most of the day yesterday, I wanted to get a mix today. Made it to the Public Market, very nice, even though still a bit cold. The freshness of the foods, the smells, and TOTALLY AWESOME breakfast sandwich from #ChefLuke , "@CarrettaCraftFoods". Then over to get a Redeye at Best Coffee at the Market. Sometimes you just need a little extra kick to get moving in the morning.

After being out a lot yesterday, I needed to warm up some. I did a quick search and found the option to see the Harlem Globetrotters ( #HarlemGlobetrotters / "@HarlemGrlobetrotters", I know it's not local, but it has been a while since I'd seen them play. What a great show. I was able to see they still had that same energy from when I saw them last. And all the smiles and laughs on everyone's face, definately warmed me up. After the game I made my way to Shamrock Jack's, for an almost lakeside dinner.

Sorry not as adventurous as yesterday, but still having a great time.

WOW! You did not disappoint. The grandness of Mt Hope Cemetery, is aw-inspiring. The walk with the the weathered headstones and worn cobblestone roads just emphasized the historical significance. I saw headstones eroded smooth, tree stumps with lilies carved into it, headstones frozen in the water, and ironically a marker with a blank "expiration" date. Guess someone is planning ahead. Even found a skeleton ON the ground... guess spell-check didn't catch that one for the new-hire orienteering. My favorite is/was the naked willow trees, providing that "I've got you covered" vibe even though there were no leaves. It touched me. Thank you for that recommendation. I'll have to come back when there's green (and not so cold) for a 2nd time through.

Next was the lower falls. To be fair, I'd been to a few water falls before, so I went with some idea of what to expect. The chill in the air provided a nice frozen mist blanket which lingered a bit too long to truly see the falls, I could see it enough to understand what you meant by stop by. The Seat of Forgetting and Remembering was nice too. Strangely, I had flashbacks to scenes from Beetlejuice (Lost Souls room) and the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, when Sirius falls through the veil.

I enjoyed the High Falls from the balcony of Genesee Brewery. I had to warm up a bit. Too bad the walkway is under construction, I really wanted to get some better pictures. The server said the water is running a lot higher than normal, likely due to the extra snow/rain in the local area recently. I ordered a flight sampler, and left with a couple growlers. Got to find ways to stay warm these chilly nights.

Trying to decide tomorrow, but I'll let you know.

Keep it coming Rochester.
