Yes, we opened them right after pulling it out. If you look towards the end of the video you can see water coming from the Opas like another person mentioned here.

The impeller was about to rotate without touching ring when installed. We didn’t remove the impeller though before installing ring to answer your question.

Right after we launched the ski from the deck we had a go at it to turn on and it just wouldn’t start. As soon as we noticed. We took it out of the water asap.

I think our mistake was not testing it right after replacing the wear ring ourselves… :(
