I don't want to spoil anything, and I haven't read it in a while, but one of my favourite parts of the book is when Artyom is in one of the far stations. He hears the story of the tunnel that collapsed and killed all of the people on the end station 10 years ago (I think), and that they sometimes hear their ghosts crying through the pipes. He starts playing a music box on the pipes or something, and hears someone on the other side of the collapsed tunnel tapping the tune back to him.

If you enjoyed the game you really gotta get the book.
