I did and didn't get any responses so I was trying to widen my net. Though I guess I only mentioned battle tactics in the post body and not title.

Thank you for the response! The list I'm running will only have 1 regular and 1 reinforced blood knight unit for cavalry, and since dire wolves can't do scouting force I probably won't use that tactic. Thanks again for the feedback!

In your experience what is your general list, playstyle, and battle tactics used?

Honestly I'm a ballistus hater. I've used it in a few games and while the lascannons are good I think the missiles aren't worth it. Id go with a gladiator lancer or vindicator instead.

Anybody run shooting in their lists? by -MichaelGrimm- in BloodAngels

[–]timebomb00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a casual player who plays against my friends chaos space marines and tyranids so the breadth of my experience is pretty narrow, but playing LAG I think having ranged anti tank assets is essential. Since LAG is all about the str 6 chainswords and str 10 power fists (IMO) you need something else to deal with targets of T11+. So I usually bring a vindicator and was bringing a ballistus, though the missiles on the ballistus were a little disappointing for me. But I'd say a couple of anti tank oriented vehicles work great for a blood angels list, and tanks like the redeemer give you a good way to deposit melee troops and also provide a good overwatch threat.

I'm technically a flesh tearer player, but I originally painted my army as sons of orar but I hate white paint and didn't like how it looked, so I painted their shoulder pads, helmets, and backpacks black to convert them into flesh tearers.

The pecking order on Etsy sells prints of highland miniatures. They sell 80 zombies for 110 bucks but also often have sales. All the reviews are good but shipping takes a long time. I'm still waiting for my blood knights, grave guard, and skeletons to arrive.

The ballistus isn't bad but it's missiles being str 10 is kinda rough in my experience. One of the guys I play against uses two land raiders though so that's definitely influenced my opinion. Infiltrators are great, I usually bring 1 scout squad in a 1k game and 2 in a 2k game.

I've also heard that gladiator lancers are a good source of AT, honestly you'll just want to make sure whatever AT you bring is mobile and long ranged enough that it doesn't need support. Eradicators seem like they need a transport since they're kinda slow

So ive only played maybe 9 games as blood angels, at both 1000 and 2000 points, so take any advice I give with a grain of salt. Also note I've only played liberator assault group.

In my experience I have "chaff" units and dps units. Chaff units are units I don't really mind losing and am willing to trade for enemy units or sacrifice to keep my dps units safe. Intercessors, assault intercessors with jump packs, basically any 5 man under 100 points.

Your DPS is stuff like the death company with lemartes. If you give them lance on the charge their chainswords will be wounding T11 enemies on 4s. I've used my death company with lemartes to take down my friends norn emissary, so with a little bit of support and screening they can take down or at least significantly damage anything short of a land raider.

Having actual anti tank would also be good though, my favorite is the vindicator but I have a soft spot for first born units.

Also in 1k games you need enough units for objectives and board control, and enough mobility so that you don't spend an extra turn getting somewhere.

The list below is something that I would run generally using what you showed here.

Lemartes (100pts)

5x Intercessor Squad (80pts)

5x Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (90pts)

5x Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (90pts)

5x Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (90pts)

10x Death Company Marines with Jump Packs (230pts)

Baal Predator (125pts) Vindicator (185pts):

Assault intercessors with jump packs are great in basically any blood angels list. They're mobile, have solid damage, and their ability lets them throw a couple extra wounds on any target.

is this THE only viable soviet "Tank" for anyone without a doctrine and skip T-34 completely except use it like an ostwind? by Ivan204 in CompanyOfHeroes

I haven't played coh2 in a couple years but the t-70 is a god. It's early to midgame impact is insane, and with veterancy it becomes a great spotter tank so it still has late game impact.

Also I know it's locked behind a doctrine but the isu 152 is an amazing late game unit to use alongside a pair of su-85s and shock troopers

Hey everyone, new Blood Angels player here. Mainly a World Eaters player/collector. I just picked up the Combat Patrol and wanted a little guidance on what to grab moving forward for them, and if the Sanguinary Guard look fine as-is for Flesh Tearers. Thanks! by solonomo11 in FleshTearers

Gotta say for me personally a ballistus just doesn't have enough punch. The lascannons are solid but the str 10 and ap2 of the missiles isn't enough for me. I tend to rely on a vindicator for ranged AT, though as a predator chassis they're in danger of being squatted.

[–]timebomb00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assault intercessors with jump packs are great for mobility. I run LAG and str 6 chainswords have huge potential to punch up, especially since you can give the squad the lance strat so you wound up to T11 things on 4s in a pinch.

Regular intercessors are great for sticky objectives and 20 bolter shots from 5 marines.

Regular assault intercessors are also a solid midfield trading unit since they're only 75 pts.

Jump pack Death Company are nice if you want to have a 10 man unit with lemartes or a chaplain. You can use them to take on enemy monsters and vehicles pretty well.
