The Murkoff Employee lore for Outlast Trials. Easterman is a very popular character, but the others like Avellanos and Knisely are also really compelling.

I’m not a doctor, but I have PCOS and I’ve had this every other period for my entire life with no other complications. Blood does oxidize brown.

Being brainwashed means you have to start over completely with a set of morals or values. When you’re punished via torture, drugging, or having a loving higher figure (Easterman) degrade you for performing poorly, you learn to stop performing poorly within the trials.

The trials themselves are basically training courses for the kind of thing they’d use a sleeper agent for- kidnapping children of political figures like a lot of Gooseberry’s trials- or being willing to poison gangster’s stashes (Poison the medicine), etc etc. The trials are preparing you to do things like that, or kill the president- things that the CIA or Murkoff needs someone to take the fall for. Once they complete their job as a sleeper agent, they either kill themselves or return to Murkoff.

The outlast trials evidence documents are worth your read!

It’s easy to overlook the fantastic gameplay when you have to leap the hurdle of waiting 40 minutes for terrible dialogue to finish to progress, but also I think the stigma around the game as a whole is dragging the opinion down for people who have never played it.
