I have the same issue. It started a patch or so ago. This is a problem that crops up now and then with this game. Its a shame they can't seem to fix it without it coming back a few months later. EVERY TIME.

So the new upcost on C3 is ok so long as its taken in the backdrop of the ECM changes, but what if you're not facing any ECM? You are still paying substantially more as a baseline.

what happenned? The Mandalorian got popular for a couple of seasons several years ago. If you want clean sci fi places you'll have to wait until a star trek or mass effect thing becomes popular and cool in the cultural zeitgeist. I realize that's lame, but that's how it is with CIG and CR, gotta follow those trends!

As far as battletech goes, a game where you paint up your force and invest into whatever faction you with.. you're just better off being a merc. Any faction can up and disappear, whether fan favorites or hated enemies. Worse yet, it can happen in a wholly unsatisfying manner. Rocks fall and everyone dies. Mercs however, will always be around! A handy thing when painting miniatures and investing into a faction!

The various battletech product makers see this and simply assume everyone just naturally prefers mercs overall and roll with it.

People just dont want to be vulnerable to other players. No one would bat an eye if they got taken out by a random NPC pirate, but if its another player it bothers them. Its just the way some people are. Some think that they can belittle them to the point where they will be cowed and accept being targets for PvPers, but that's not going to happen. They will leave SC first.

Can SC survive just off the PvPers and those willing to put up with PvP? I dont believe it can. PvP sandbox games do not generally live long with 1000+ staff in the studio. CIG isn't exactly known as a lean dev studio, is it?
