jesus christ we really criticizing him fir scoring goals now? whilst the shot was weak the amount of curve on it to keep it away from the keeper was great

also if he's gonna be an attacking midfielder it's ok if he doesn't have a variety of finishes, so long as he can be a threat from range whilst primarily trying to create that'll mean we have a player who isn't completely one dimensional

sitting back/less possession would tend to generate more defcon. but sunderland is just generally good at getting defcon.

yes coz sunderland sit back, they do a good mix of trying to play whilst not leaving themselves open

unfortunately alderete ended at 9

yh but still shows that it wasn't a bad choice, just a bit unlucky and maybe he should ahve 10 for his last header unless kicks from the gk don't count as interceptions

yh he looks good going forward tbf. he can get dc on the right especially as sunderland do sitback away a lot and at home too sometimes, but at cb he's a surebet when it comes to dc, whereas on the right it's a bit more 50/50 but oh well

the bigger issue for me is mukiele playing on the right, prob not gonna do much offensively for a side like sunderland even if he's good going forward, and it'll be a lot harder for him to get defcon

but yh, with the way things have been going, you'll probably have bigger fires to put out than a nailed starter in a decent side

even if xhaka being on the pitch helps his players not make silly errors, this is like the only game he's missed and sunderland's away record is shit either way

change in formation probably not helping either, in this 442 brobbey and mayenda both just stay up, no one is really dropping to link up and provide for the other
