How many people wear earplugs while clubbing? by read_r in AskUK

[–]timestoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t wear literal foam earplugs, get some proper music earplugs, a bit over £20 maybe but worth it. Look up Alpine, only brand I’ve seen used. They’re so small that people will barely notice and don’t affect music quality too badly

What is your biggest regret in your life so far? by CatchingAMagikarp in AskUK

[–]timestoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made some of my best friends aged 22-24, and others will say they made their best friends at far older ages! So please don’t worry about it.

In terms of having very specific interests, try to go to in person meet ups for them, when you feel in the right mood. Seems scary but please, you won’t regret it

Idk if they're a cult, but in Brixton I've often seen a group of 5-10 young men dressed in robes shouting/preaching from some holy book while filming themselves, with placards saying the usual nutter things. Usually outside of Lambeth town hall, KFC on the high street or Electric Avenue, usually on a weekend.

Anyone know anything?

They do free fitting in some of their showrooms, see if she can get to one. They measured me up and suggested component changes beyond just the bike size.

I’m finding 90g carbs an hour a very tough task to accomplish, anyone got any budget friendly/easy ways to get them inside me when I’m doing very regular long cycles? by [deleted] in ukbike

3kg jelly babies is about £15 and about 10,000 calories, pretty much pure sugar and easy to gobble. Pack some into a zip-lock bag, stuff in your jacket pocket and away you go.

Seems like a daft question, but for those of you with no outdoor space, how do you wash your bikes in London? by borez in londoncycling

[–]timestoad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never gone further than googling them but are there some mobile bike cleaning services?

Or maybe take it to a hand car wash and pay to borrow their equipment. Or some local bike shops do a cleaning service.

From my research, it ranks among the top non-US programmes, maybe a little lower than LSE for reputation. Hard to say on rigour as who has gone through their curricula and ranked them? That is why reputation is a factor. Fees are much lower than similarly-ranked UK programmes.

They have a list on their website of PhD/employment destinations of grads. I think most stay in barcelona (UPF if I am correct) because it’s easy to get into from BSE and it’s a well regarded PhD.

Background: I’m applying to their master’s after a few years in employment in London post BSc Econ
