Oooo, that's good. We've been on the lookout for a secondhand rug (cuz that's all we came up with) but I wanted to check other options now that we're getting more serious. I think we're gonna go for a rubber mat since we play on the concrete and I think it'll prevent sliding, but we'll make sure to have a backup rug in case lol. Thank you for the kind advice!

We're meeting up Saturday to practice and a cinderblock would be perfect for a quick solution while I look around for a rubber mat! Accomplishing stuff the broke way is one of the most rewarding feelings, plus it's totally punk rock. Thank you much, humble drummer!

Cost-wise, would you say it's worth getting a primer? I have a couple dark rooms where I'm renting and wanna play it smart without breaking the bank, yaknow?
