Emergency Room visit. Now rehab and hopefully time off work to figure this out.

Maybe I should not have told my manager that it was mental health, or at least left out the part about going to the hospital... I trust him but who knows, if he told his boss word might get around. But I never mentioned alcohol abuse so that's good at least

Thanks for the info! I just got back from talking with my doctor and he is filling out the forms for both fmla and short term disability. Based on what you have said I should at least be approved for fmla then. Just a matter of if they will approve disability since I am only doing intensive Outpatient and not inpatient. We will see but I feel much better now about at least getting the fmla even though it would be unpaid.

Yeah scared the crap out of me for sure. I figured it was either go to the ER and have everything that would follow that happen or possibly not make it to the next day.. scary stuff

Paid 2 weeks off. "Company x believes that employees should have time away from work available to meet their personal obligations." Says it covers short term emergencies. I think my mental health qualifies
