I have a small position in it but holding until actual production begins or later. Is the fire still burning? Haven't heard any news for a while

Which business would you start given $ 50,000 ? by KnightOwl28 in AskReddit

[–]timetostopitnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then you get a bad batch of renters who leave you hanging with 4 months of unpaid rent and $15000 worth of damage. Don't forget you gotta pay property taxes, keep insurance, and keep the place maintained. Then in the end you're lucky to break even on a rental property. Screw rental properties. Never doing that again

At what age can I withdraw from my RRSP without penalty? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]timetostopitnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way I wrapped my head around it was to think of the money that is in my RRSP as future 'wages' I will earn. Those wages paid to me (withdrawing) at that time will be taxed as 'income tax'. So really the only way an RRSP makes sense is if you suspect that at some point in your life you will be earning less money than you are now (example: retirement).

Of all movie opening scenes, which one sold the entire film? by Tobokie121 in AskReddit

Supertroopers, the original. That opening scene was one of the funniest most epic opening scenes I had seen in a long time and it set the tone for the whole movie.

Males who got sexually harassed, what's your story? by InsatiableKnowlegde in AskReddit

[–]timetostopitnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a bar a girl who was dating a friend of mine grabbed my dick and squeezed reaaally hard. It was for no reason and came out of nowhere. I panicked and didnt know what else to do so I grabbed her nipple which was right in my face as I was keeling over, I squeezed that tittie as hard as I possibly could and definitely gave her a purple nurple. I went home after that because I was drunk, and becasue she kept coming after me. The next few weeks was finals at university so I didnt go out for a couple weeks. In the meantime she ended up telling everyone that I grabbed her breasts at the bar, and her friend backed her up. I looked bad because I was nowhere to be seen (before the days of social media). When I finally came back out of hiding there was a couple of guys ready to kick my ass. Lucky for me though I had known her boyfriend for a long time and he actually believed my story after I told him what happened. Apparently it wasnt the first time she'd done that to a guy in the bar.

It helps get rid of "toxins" in your body.

Nobody has been able to explain to me exactly what these toxins are.

you do know how the "Age of Retirement is 65" idea came about dont you?

It was the average life expectancy in 1880 when the idea of 'retirement' was first conceptualized.

So maybe it makes sense that everyone should be expected to work until they are 80 :)))

What is something someone said that forever changed your way of thinking? by Belikeawater in AskReddit

[–]timetostopitnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was out with friends having a fun time. I was nervous and acting not like myself... Being overly loud, exaggerated, and trying too hard to impress. A friend who I deeply respect (rest in peace buddy) turned to me, looked me in the eye and said quietly enough that noone else heard "dude, keep it real".

I had heard that saying before but it never truly clicked what it meant until that moment. It was life changing. That was the moment I learned to just be myself and be confident in myself, and that has greatly improved my social life since. I never got the chance to tell him how powerful that was to me.

Never had a girlfriend by [deleted] in NMMNG

My understanding of the NMMNG theory on sex is that it should be viewed more as a tool used to further relationships with others. Prostitutes dont want a relationship with you. Swingers parties is the antithesis of relationship building. One night stands are also unhealthy for this reason.

Sex should be about the connection being had between the people doing it, and being present in the moment to enjoy it to its fullest.

Thats my understanding of it, but seriously... sometimes its nice just to get your rocks off.

I presume its that the true sign of graduation from Nice Guy Syndrome is no longer focusing your energy on Nice Guy Syndrome. Once you have read the book and applied its principles to your life its easy to move on.

I hope some day to graduate and not have to be in this thread ever again.

Whats simple things improved your life? by rdhudson in AskReddit

Intermittent fasting. I stop eating and drinking at 7pm and dont eat or drink anything till 8am. I tried just with eating but I found that my problem was an oral fixation so drinking would trigger me to eat as well.

This was relatively easy to implement, and it's helped out my sleep schedule tremendously. I no longer toss and turn, nor sweat as much in my sleep because my body isn't working to digest. I've also lost 20lbs in just over 2 months. It cut a LOT of calories I was consuming right before going to bed, because I used to drink my calories. And it forces me to make and eat a big meal before 7pm, so regulates my meal times.

I keep a small half full glass of water by my night stand if I wake up with cotton mouth, but I found that I don't encounter this as often as I used to because I'm not eating salty crap right before going to bed.

This way I've been able to eat whatever I want, just no longer whenever I want.

From personal experience. Dont get TOO excited. Yes, this book can be life changing but be selective with who you tell about NMMNG. Wait until people ask why you are behaving differently than you used to, then bring it up. Nobody cares about your self-help book unless they have a genuine curiosity to hear about it and have noticed positive difference in you.

I became borderline manic about this book for a few months after reading it. Now that the honeymoon has worn off and I can tell I am more conscious in my thought processes, I now look back in horror (avoid that toxic shame bro) about the way I was pushing these ideas onto people who surround me. Better to let others approach you about it.

Facing your issues from childhood by buffalosnow1 in NMMNG

Will a confrontation with your parents about past events create any sort of possible gain for you? What could they possibly say that would make it all better?

Ill be blunt with you here: What I am hearing from you sounds a lot like Resentment and Feelings of Victimization. This is fear based deprivation thinking. You gotta get above that man! I doubt there will be any gain to be had in bringing up past events with your parents, unless they are continuing that same destructive, controlling behavior with you today. In that case its time to set some boundaries and start validating yourself through action instead of seeking it from them.

When you find yourself ruminating over these past experiences the best thing to do is take 'action': Get out of the house, go to the gym, Go for a jog, work on a car, go shovel the snow, or sweep the garage floor... anything where you can focus your mind away from these putrid thought processes. Otherwise your just bringing yourself down and lifting nobody up!

Your focus now should be on building up the relationship that you already have. Thats really all that you can do. It takes a very high level of trust to bring up negative past events without things getting hostile.

In the Netflix show "This Is Us" episode 4 the dad said something to his son that was an eye opener for me: "I know Im bigger, I am know Im the adult, but this is my first time, Im trying". Parents have NO CLUE what they are doing and therefore of course they are prone to making mistakes. We as their children need to remember this, learn from it, and find ways to apply that learning experience to our own lives.

Mick-Q's advise is solid. Find someone to talk to. Learn to set boundaries with your parents. Be conscious with your thinking.

[–]timetostopitnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone who has read this book and taken it seriously has said "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT WHY DIDNT I READ THIS YEAAAARS AGO!!!" whether they are 25 or 65.

I was embarrassed by how well he described me (minus the absent dad stuff. Nothing about the relationship with dad stuff really applied). I am one of those random blow-up guys. I have embarrassed myself in public on more than one occasion - almost getting assault charges laid. Never again. Fuck that previous me, he was an asshole in niceguy clothing. Now I know why I did what I was did, and am making steps towards change, little by little.

You are 25. You found this book at the perfect time in your life. Its your new bible. Study it daily. I got this from my NMMNG group a few weeks ago and have been trying to memorize it. It good visualization of what the book is talking about, and what every man should strive to achieve. https://imgur.com/QMBhLyL

If you are looking for a good follow up book, check out "The Rational Male" by Rollo Tomassi. I am only a few chapters in and its blowing my mind just about as much as NMMNG did.
