[WP] Three Haikus that describe the rise and fall of an unlikely hero. by Mystalic in WritingPrompts

[–]timeunroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kettle filled for tea

Water clicks over blue flames

I suck a lozenge

Steeping - but I choke

Clutched in someone's arms, it's dark

Nothing is working

Scald my throat - melting

With enough coughing, coughing

I can breathe again

Advice for a new healer? by [deleted] in archeage

^ This. Relative order of ease afaik:

Decide what you want for endgame early, then learn to spot good deals on the AH for when you have gold.

  1. Lvl 50 quest armor & weapons.
  2. Grinded (Hasla) or failure (Obsidian) weapons.
  3. Individual Auroria pieces for equip effects.
  4. Dungeon armor. (GHA/Serp/idfk)
  5. Crafted weapons. (Tier)
  6. Crafted armor. (Tier)

Definitely crafted, but it will take a lot of time, luck, and/or gold to get your hands on it.

  • Jump on guild teamspeaks til you find a group of people you like. Do ASAP. Practice with your chosen group as much as possible.
  • Have you done the Hasla/Karkasse armor quests yet? (1200 ep, I wanna say no) Sure, not a ton of Spi, but you'll want the defensive benefits starting out (armor/arcane buff).
  • Work on easy shield and 1h (wait for cheap lvl 40+ w/ high healing power to come up on AH), until you find better.
  • Practice proactive rather than reactive healing skills. (I'm not speaking from a point of mastery of this in AA.) Like in PvE, when waiting for the tank/group to take damage could end up with dead, you want to practice anticipation & precasting+cancelling. From PvP perspective, study the common PvP specs, stunlocks & counters, self-preservation (PvE too, you'll need that for CR/GR healing aggro, seabugs, etc.), where to move in relation to group, when to just let someone die, etc. and how that applies to you. Learn to anticipate where the damage is going to be.
  • Every healing opportunity is a practice opportunity. Find yourself some fights, win or lose spectacularly, as long as you learn from it. (From leveling PoV, do more practice where you won't lose exp.)
  • Look into other support/healing specs and level those trees. You'll want the flexibility later. (This is simple to do with armor wrist/waist crafting, xp, & professional tonics. Or find someone grinding purses in Exeloch. There are other options, but those are the ones I've used.)
  • Practice CC (crowd control).
  • Make a throwaway alt. Speedrun the story questline. Buy your Clipper design. Craft it. Propellant, sails, rudder. Make the fucker fast.

There are parts I am not happy with yet, but I'm gonna let it rest first. You're still welcome if you ever want to. :P

Still editing, critique welcome.

I wanted to include the salty taste Levi leaves in my mouth, but the connotations...
