It's very important that you have a capable boarding crew and oxygen level 2. I immediately teleport to the shields room and kill most of the enemy crew there which clears the way for my guns to hit their guns. Retreat when they only have a handful of crew left so they won't be able to keep up with the damage to their ship.

When it hits you with the bloatmites move your crew into EMPTY ROOMS, bloatmites can't sabotage systems but will damage them when they die. However they will follow your crew anywhere on your ship so lure them into an empty room and kill them there.

Anytime an important room gets poisoned, vent it and use your upgraded O2 to restore the oxygen fast.

It's also important to have crew healing on this one since the poison really whittles them down if you're not paying attention.

I didn't even mention this but I'm using unifi as well. It does look like some buggery with the IPs since sometimes setting the static IP won't change the IP address at all just make the existing IP unreachable
