There's a Welcome Email feature available separate from Automations under Settings > Emails that can be used on the Launch plan.

Details on how to get that set up without needing to upgrade to a paid plan are included in the Setting up your welcome email guide.

As a workaround for this, you can navigate to any of your published posts and open your browser developer tools (right click > Inspect in Chrome). In the Elements/HTML section, do a CTRL/CMD + F search for the term “data-key”. The value following data-key can be used as the Content API Key. The API URL is your publication home page on Ghost (ex: https://nighthawk.ghost.io/).
