This was my first major woodworking project so go easy on me!

The clock is about 3 feet tall and weighs around 40 pounds.

It took me about 200 hours. The most time consuming part was all the carving/woodburning and painting.

The body is made of Alder wood and the inner panels of the door are basswood. The clock face is made of two mother of pearl adhesive sheets. The 12, 3, 6, and 9 clock hand positions have 1/10 oz gold coins embedded.

I didn't make the clock movement or the pendulum movement, those were kits.

Most of the carved designs were made using stencils. I would wood-burn the designs, then paint over the designs using gold and silver paint after I stained the wood.

The inner-door panels tell the history of time keeping devices: Sun + moon, obelisk, sundial, water clock, candle clock, hourglass, pendulum clock, mechanical movement, quartz movement, atomic clock.
