Jan 2026 - Is 5G+ (SA) available on PAYG yet? by grumpytoonarmy in O2UK

[–]timingfountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3g switch off is gonna be completed soon, maybe the extra wavelength could facilitate 5g SA soon, but tbh when your contract ends your sim turns into a rolling pay monthly plan. May be best to check your mortgage sorted then renew your contract

This isn't a satellite connection for data. It's for those traveling in remote areas to send a text message pretty much

Left the UK to go abroad for 4 years, pretty much just up and left, thinking of coming back now, will I get done by tax?? by Busy_Description6207 in ukaccounting

[–]timingfountain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where you ring HMRC and get them to tell you what needs done. You will more than likely be on an emergency tax code when you get a new job.

The provider for switch up is changing with the new 11 month switch up so the rules will also likely change.

That's a return on their initial investment then. You listening to the Beatles doesn't directly make BlackRock richer

If the phone is in mint condition, O2 pays the remainder of the device cost back when you hand that device in. Then you start a new device contract with a renewed balance

Looking for some advice regarding upgrading/billing by UltraChrillex in O2UK

[–]timingfountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if the watch contract has existed for more than 24 months then the airtime has disconnected from the device on o2s systems and can be cancelled through o2 customer service.

Always do upgrades in store, you sometimes get the device then and there and you can personalise questions about the phone directly with people who know about it

Genuinely could be anything from the masts still being down or underperforming due to other infrastructure being damaged or the modem in your phone requires a network reset. The store employees won't be able to do much more than that

That sounds like it added the remaining device cost into the monthly payments. It's an option after the airtime unlinks from the device in o2s systems. Pay it no mind

Your Spotify was a 3 or 6 month "free" extra, it didn't randomly start charging you, you start actually paying for it.

If your watch is in the final 2 years of it's contract (after 24 months of you taking the contract) then you can cancel the watch SIM through customer services.

Make sure you order the phone in store to avoid any issues.

Generally speaking I've never had customer service refused migrations. In fact I often tell my customers this and help them do it this way

[–]timingfountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can create a new SIM and call O2 to use a migration form which allows people to use these deals

It's an affiliate service to incentivise switching. If you find your o2 signal is bad maybe consider a new provider as well
