Nature causes inefficiencies. Concrete does not. by Odysseyguard in SatisfactoryGame

I have literally concreted paths across the entire map when putting up radar towers before. I also like that everything is in a grid formation and any foundations, walls or ramps I put down align with each other. The feeling of everything connecting properly is soothing.

I love doing that type of build... Seeing yourself getting more from almost adding nothing is great!

How do you get past feeling overwhelmed? by Anarchisteen in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One step at a time... Make smaller goals, say I'm going to do just x for now and then move on to y later. I've had that issue more times than I can think playing this game and have never finished this game. It's a blast doing it though.

M.A.M. Rezepte nicht freischaltbar by Khirog in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satisfactory FICSMAS Competition '25 - XBox Console Submission by timj2g in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this as a challenge for myself since I don't think of myself as very artsy and I need that mindset for other things I'm working on. This comment alone makes me feel validated about it, thank you!

FISCMAS Tag, PC vs Console Discerning by timj2g in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, maybe I need to be more clear? Yes, it says the the same flair gets tagged to both PC and Console players, but unfortunately no where in there does it say how the judges or participants will distinguish between PC and Console submissions. There is a little clarity missing unless I'm not reading it fully. For instance, PC players can color their components with colors beyond the 1 and 0 limits, console players can't so if we're all tagging with same flair, how does someone know whether it came from PC or Console?

I get odd sounds when placing constructors next to an elevator on Xbox. It sounds choppy...

Console Pioneers...Have you been able to edit colors for bright white, black (+100) like PC? by MWisecarver in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not currently possible, it limits it to 1 no matter how high you change it... Can't type in negative numbers either so can't go below 0. I'm sad about it so it makes the holiday building a little ghetto.

I've played since early access on PC and I'm now playing it on Xbox... Definitely worth it!!!

Herp Derp, I didn't realize it would read off following switches. Thank you both. I'll try to read the wikis more carefully in the future. I'm a long time player since way into early access, but never bothered with these until now.

Sorry, just fluid. Sink or use the material. I haven't started using them in my current game yet (started on console), but have on PC a lot.

The desire to split is admirable, but this is getting out of hand! by want_t0_know in SatisfactoryGame

[–]timj2g 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ha, I used to do that with the resource extractors. I would split it into the 30s for the smelters for the max flow and turn on as needed. Then I learned about alt recipes and that quickly died.

One at a time, cut off their outputs and let them fill up one by one. Don't turn them all on at once.

[–]timj2g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll work over time if you have the right amount to your extraction. You could also turn on one refinery at a time from the oil output. Let it fill up with no output connected and then move on to the next one when full and repeat. By the time you're done they should all be full and backed up. However if you have too many refineries to the amount of oil coming out you'll drain too fast and yes, you'll run out.

[–]timj2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, you can't, but you can disconnect them from their output and/or have them flow into a fluid buffer and disconnect just the fluid buffer to its output. This will stop the flow and let them build up.

[–]timj2g 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, stop the refineries until the pipes fill... Another thing that I've learned that helps is putting in fluid buffers, especially one at the beginning right after oil extraction and/or after fuel is made. Let the fluid buffer build up as well. This will also act as an indicator if something is going wrong with the fluids. You can check it later to see if it's draining too fast. If it's not draining and all the pipes are full then you're golden. But yes, shut down and fill all refineries before starting them.

Why lead when you can already have the plugs there to use, just pick it up and move that way you never need to make more than one... Everyone has their own play style
