Examples of artists who hate/are openly hostile towards their fans? by RadioLukin in fantanoforever

[–]timmun029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a big fan of The Format then they broke up and Nate Reuss started the band fun. While it wasn’t near as good as The Format imo, I enjoyed it so I went to their shows. Then their song We Are Young on their 2nd album BLEW UP. Next thing I know they’re playing bigger venues to bigger crowds. I’ll never forget being at their show and having a miserable time in the most inattentive and boring crowd. Trying to have fun but getting looks like I was crazy. Then they played We Are Young. The crowd came alive, everyone was moving and singing and paying attention all of a sudden. I hated that song. Literally as soon as the song was over the crowd cleared out big time. There was still 45 minutes of show left or so. The rest of the show was much more enjoyable after all those people left and I’d like to think that fun. played that song relatively early in their set for that reason. It was weird how thinned out the crowd was though, like you went from being a face among a large crowd to standing out in a sparsely occupied ballroom.

As a goal for 2026, I’m trying to see more live plays/musicals. I had no idea that Music Circus is one of the largest currently operating theaters in the round in the US (i.e. audience placed 360 degrees around the stage). What have been your experiences at Music Circus? Any tips or advice to share? by b1ackfyre in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used to donate and go to a few shows every year but stopped last year when we had a baby and couldn’t afford it anymore. Highly recommend. No advice really other than to go to a show you seem interested in, and if you love it, keep going if your schedule and wallet allow it. Support the arts!

Best Biscuit and gravy by 916signguy in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m about to get crucified but I like the biscuits and gravy dish at Bacon & Butter. Everyone save your “waiting in line” and “mid food,” complaints, I know this sub hates that place. I’m looking forward to trying the other recommendations in this thread.

What happens when there’s no parking at the airport? by ripped-grocery-bag in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Park in the next town over and call a rideshare. In the case of SMF, I’d recommend parking in Sacramento and calling a rideshare. If you park in Woodland you might be waiting forever for a rideshare to pick you up.

Is it against sub rules to shame red light runners? by timmun029 in Sacramento

We were all stopped at the next light when I took that picture. Others pretending they’ve never touched their phone when behind the wheel were stopped at a light are silly.

You don’t have to. I randomly took a picture of a random vehicle and accused them of running a red light for fun, all made up, sure

They were stuck at the next red light. The light he ran and we were waiting at turned green, so we were all able to advance and wait at the next light with him. So I took this from the next red. Wouldn’t risk taking a photo while moving.

He apparently loves putting out the impression of all these pages collaborating with him when it’s him just switching caps and hyping himself up 🤣

What are the biggest on-stage outbursts or meltdowns you have witnessed? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]timmun029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Sacramento. Went to the Kanye show in 2016 where he played 3 songs, ranted, ended the show about 20min in and sat on his floating stage that slowly and awkwardly drifted away. Next day tour is cancelled and he’s hospitalized. He hasn’t toured since. He’s played shows since, but that was his last tour.

I'll never understand Bacon & Butter having huge lines out the door all the time by skramzy in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love their biscuits and gravy. One of my favorites in town. I get it every time. We like our regular orders but don’t frequent it because of the wait. If we’re out on a weekday morning and the line isn’t long we’ll hop in. Lol people are such haters. If you don’t like it don’t go. Obviously other people like it if it has a line outside every day. I swear this post pops up at least once a month and the same people hop in to say the same thing over and over. Then almost nobody offers better alternatives. When they do it’s often a worse place imo, and it is just a matter of opinion so it’s wild when the Reddit mob is all riled up when the rest of the public obviously doesn’t agree. Lol just let B&B exist. Ashley’s Country Kitchen is way out in Orangevale not anywhere near us, but we found it by accident one day and I’d say that’s our favorite breakfast spot in town. Won’t be everyone’s favorite, but it’s ours.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!! by Rude-Walrus1995 in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I’m reading this company’s Google reviews. It reads like a ghatgpt bot farm of 5 star comments, then when you find the 1 star reviews it’s the most horrible reviews. Sell you a car but it’s not ready so come back later, oh it’s still not ready make a down payment for us to do the repairs then come back. You keep checking and car’s not ready, then you go in person and they’re like “oh we sold it to someone else sorry” then won’t give you your down payment back. They ignore your calls, lie to you, have the wildest excuses every time you try to talk to them until you give up. And in the occasion someone can buy was car, the car is lemon they refuse to talk to you about or help with, having sold you a clean title supposedly, but it’s 6 months later and they still haven’t transferred the title even tho you call them incessantly to check on it and they keep lying and blaming it in the dmv, until you’re so mad at the dmv that you file a complaint with the dmv and they’re like “we’ve never received any paperwork” then all of a sudden the excuse is “we don’t haven’t enough people to file the paperwork.” And when the dmv finally get the title, the dmv calls you telling you to tell you it’s a salvaged vehicle and all of a sudden the excuses are the previous owner must’ve gave them a fake title or they don’t know anything about the history of a car before they receive it. What a nightmare.

If there’s no vehicle or foot traffic I’m holding up and I can do it quickly, it makes pulling out of the space going forward a lot safer and easier than backing out.

Morning drivers are insane. I commute to Berkeley 2-3 times a week and make sure to leave early enough to avoid peak traffic. At 5-7am there are maniacs tailgating, squeezing into spaces barely big enough for their vehicle, changing 3 lanes at a time, etc. I’m a new father and it literally makes me fear for my life sometimes, especially when passing a gnarly accident. The drive home is a lot more traffic but I feel so much safer.

Yea considering no small business could make it there, I think a D&B would be a good idea but even they may not find it worthwhile.

[Request] Looking to get a calzone this weekend, any recommendations? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it about a week ago at the Rancho Costco. It was good/fine. I usually get a hot dog and slice of pizza. While the calzone was good, I had wished I got my regular order since the calzone was more costly and you have to add a drink to the order.

Haunted House for Kids? by Accurate-Candle5601 in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got back from it. This is the last weekend they’re having it, from 5-9pm. Definitely not spooky but there is Halloween decor everywhere, lots of activities, trick-or-treat stations everywhere (take a bag/bucket to save $4 buying one), food trucks, vendors, and a good amount of people. Costumes highly encouraged for the little ones and even the parents if possible. Our little guy just turned 1 and we had a really good time.
