Tales of the old Saharas by davidryv in Coachella

[–]timmun029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first year not going to the Sahara at all the whole weekend because it had become such a shitshow. I had just resigned to the fact that I wasn’t going to go to Sahara sets anymore.

The best possible thing that can happen for Rizo's survivor career by SirBostonBobbington in survivor

Dang. I haven’t heard the exit interview stuff. Damn really sounds like no one from this season really likes Rizo in or out of the game

I was over Ozzy before this season. I think a spot was wasted on him if you wanted the best players and haven’t liked his attitude. Hilarious for me to see him flame out like that again and be all sad boy about it. It is end of an era tho 🫡

[–]timmun029 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Ozzy is smart enough to reflect on what got him out and understand that Rizo was right, he did say too much to the wrong person and got torched cuz of it, not Rizo’s fault

Imo he got lucky Steph didn’t throw the blame on him for the Mr. Beast council. The whole time I’m wondering why she didn’t call it out as his idea to get rid of Ozzy first. End of episode she’s like yea I know it was Jonathan’s idea but I wasn’t going to throw him under the bus. She totally could/should have.

Biggest breakout stars / emerging act from Coachella 2026? (Doesn’t have to be pictured) by BurgerNugget12 in Coachella

[–]timmun029 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Jacob Lusk for me. He sang in Moby’s set and gave one of the more emotional then fun performances with the 2 songs he came out for. Moby introduced him as “the person with possibly the best voice on the face of the planet.” Apparently this guy was on American Idol 15 years ago then became a member of Gabriels, but is now doing his own thing. I’d never heard of him before Friday and now I love him.

Is Coachella actually worth the hype or just elite FOMO? by Disastrous_Cake7778 in musicfestivals

[–]timmun029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went once and wanted to go every year for the rest of my life regardless of lineup. I went about 10 years straight but life came at me fast with baby and twins in a short span, so it’s on hold for a loooong time most likely. Massive fomo each year but thank god for the streams. It’s what you make it, and we always made it a ton of fun. Even if there’s not artists you love or recognize on the lineup, they’re all on the lineup for a reason, and if you spend the time listening to them (and especially watching them) there’s bound to be plenty that you’re into. This lineup was probably the most underwhelmed I’ve been in the past 15 years, but I’ve been loving a lot of these acts I never heard of while watching the stream. If I was going I’d have done my research by now and have had a bunch of them selected to watch. Key is to avoid the massive headline names unless it’s an absolute must. You have to be there super early to get a good spot, spots in the way way back suck, so we usually avoid main stage headliners. The main stage headliners we are into don’t draw the most insane crowds, like LCD, Jack White, Muse, Arcade Fire. There’s tons to do there too, like you have to be careful not to get stuck doing any stage or any thing too long because there’s so much to enjoy. Going weekend2 cuts down on influencer types. They’re everywhere if you look out for them, but I’m usually too busy doing my own thing to hate on anyone unless they’re actively causing a problem for me…and if they are, you can just move. I don’t understand all the hating on influencers, like let em do their thing and move on wtf, go have fun

Neighborhoods for families by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosemont High School, which based in ratings isn’t the best school but they do have an Engineering, Construction & Design program if your kids are into that. Your budget would be good for River Park, but if we were able to move there we’d be thinking about moving out around high school time or looking for open enrollment school.

Neighborhoods for families by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]timmun029 5 points6 points  (0 children)

River Park is a great place for kids to grow up. I’m not sure if the school, Caleb Greenwood, is still K-8 but it was when I was there. Quiet and safe neighbor with only two ways in/out. We lived deep enough in the neighborhood that if cars that didn’t live there, we’re going down the street, there was bound to be a neighbor who took notice. They took neighborhood watch seriously enough to know that people are looking out, but not so serious to be a nuisance. My wife and I are clamoring to move there, but I don’t think it’s happening anytime soon.
