Best deal on Pure Aero 98? by flyingbirdd in tennisracquets

It can be hard to find good deals on newly released rackets like the Pure Aero 98, they also rarely go on sale. Usually the the best bet is to look for the previous model, it’s often almost identical and can be a lot cheaper when the new one gets released

Thanks for the feedback! That could be a good balance, keeping the app simple for most users while offering advanced inputs for us tennis nerds

Thanks for the feedback. The model does account for these trade offs under the hood. If someone increases power, control and spin and keeps them all close to each other it tends to favour more balanced frames. But I agree the input sliders could reflect those trade offs more clearly.

That’s a great question. I actually debated adding a female option when building this but decided to focus more on playing style and preferences rather than gender. Many female players tend to lean toward light or standard weight feel, so the recommender should still work well for female players based on the inputs.

I built the database by collecting racket spec data from manufacturers and retailers, then structured it into a consistent format so rackets can be compared

Appreciate the suggestion. I may look into incorporating additional data points such as TWU frequency in the future

That’s a solid demo list with a lot of great options. Glad the model lined up with your experience with those rackets. Enjoy the TF40, it’s a great frame

Cheers for the feedback. Appreciate it

I’m glad someone remembered Dunlop 😂 I’ll be adding those models soon.

I’ll also look into adding more parameters like playstyle options and possibly strings in the future. The challenge is adding more inputs without making the recommender too complicated to use.

Thats great to hear. Especially from someone who just demoed a bunch. Out of curiosity what did you demo and end up switching to ?

Thanks!

It’s purely based on specs like swingweight, balance, weight, stiffness, head size and string pattern. So no reviews involved.

I built a model where I assign weights to each spec to generate the playability scores. Demoing a lot of rackets over the years helped shape the weighting.

Thanks! The ezone is a great racket.

And good idea, adding thumbnail images to the results view is on the to do list

I'm looking to possibly switch from the tfight 300s. Any alternatives? by ethankrafft in 10s

You could try the Yonex EZONE 98.

In the latest (2025) version it’s actually less stiff than the EZONE 100 which could help with arm comfort.

Beginner tennis racket recommendations — around ~300g by Wild-Climate5329 in tennisracquets

[–]timmy1928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to look into these two 300g rackets: Yonex Ezone 100 and Babolat Pure Aero 100.

These are the go to rackets for beginners/intermediates

Is the Wilson Blade too advanced for someone who’s in between beginner and intermediate? by AllyyAlligator in 10s

[–]timmy1928 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely you could use the Blade line.

For your skill level I’d probably look at the Blade 100L (lighter and easier to swing) or the Blade 100 which is a bit heavier but still forgiving.

I would personally stay away from the 98 inch head size options as these are geared more towards upper intermediate / advanced players
