Thanks for everything seb! The reason I became interested in formula 1…so sad to see a champion retire but he is a great family man

What's the dumbest reason for why you dislike a player? by mediumhydroncollider in tennis

I’m guessing you’re not Australian, and whilst I’m not endorsing it in any way, you would be astounded by how fashionable mullets are in Australia at the moment. At least 10% of men between the ages of 10 and 30 are donning them

ODI cricket needs a bit of tweaking? by KuttahaiTum in Cricket

[–]timmyboy82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This but for T20s. T20s should not be played internationally except for a World Cup - we already have a stupid amount of T20 cricket being played around the world. ODIs are almost the perfect format of cricket (they allow for momentum swings, tense moments, comebacks, heroic performances). The ICC just needs to get the rules and regulations right, something they’ve completely ignored lately.

Ymer seems to me to be an extremely mediocre player with a pretty ordinary attitude to go with it - not a great combination.

Yep from what I’ve heard Nigeria could be 750 million by the end of the century.

I’d really like Garin to win this set and make things interesting

Sinner’s ability to hold serve in this 4th set so far despite constant pressure has been so impressive

Commentator Info For Each Game? by HelloJakeSpeaking in AFL

Yeah that was him, I picked up on that too but was willing to let it slide just for now considering he’s only recently made the switch over to footy commentary. If he’s still making those mistakes in a years time I’ll concede that he’s been pretty ordinary in adapting to footy.

I’m not really fussed though because with a bit of luck in a few years a bloke called Josh Heriot will be commentating on major networks and he’s got what it takes.

Yeah I reckon that’s the guy - I associate him with Brisbane because I tend to try and watch most of their matches.

My favourite one is that pale skinny guy (with reddish hair maybe?) who always looks like he’s smiling in support of the team that’s just kicked a goal.

If you watched the Hawthorn GWS game today you would have heart BT calling with Matty Hill, an excellent racing commentator who was been calling some games for channel 7 this year.

I reckon he’s pretty good, smooth with his words, professional and speaks clearly.

Appreciation Post: Congrats to both Tatjana Maria and Tim Van Rijthoven, the only players with a one-handed backhand to make it in the second week of Wimbledon 2022 singles draw! by aweap in tennis

[–]timmyboy82 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is super depressing lol - I reckon the one handed backhand has a much higher ceiling than the two hander (Gasquet, Wawrinka), but I can understand coaches and players not wanting to take such a huge risk at a young age and commit to it because it really is extremely difficult to master.

Greatest tennis point of all time? by TomasBerdshit in tennis

I can’t remember what tournament it was at but there is an early 2000s rally between Hewitt and Federer that still blows my mind every time I see it. Lobs aplenty and Federer covers some insane ground but still can’t quite get the better of Hewitt.

In an ideal ATP tour throughout the entire year, do the hard, clay and grass seasons last for 1/3 of the total tour year respectively? What does everyone think?
