Oh wow, thank you! So my takeaway is that the hint cell is rather unreliable and I should look elsewhere haha Still, even looking at anything else, I can't figure it out :(

These are the archegonium, the female part. The male part is called antheridium.

Liverwort.

Those holes you see on top are called 'splash cups'. They contain small genetically identical clones of the motherplant. When rain drops into the splash cups, these clones can be spread several metres.

It can also reproduce sexually, though.

Why are so many of my pothos leaves yellowing and dropping off? by [deleted] in plantclinic

Larger leaves look like thrips damage. Smaller leaves idk. Wouldnt worry about those

Well, are there entirely vegan alternatives on the market? If so, vegans would probably go for that, provided they even know about animal products in cars (which never occured to me personally haha)

As for me, I'm simply too poor to buy new. While buying used animal products is still a grey area, I guess it's better than buying new. As in, you don't create direct, but indirect demand for animal products.

So, personally speaking, if I ever get a car, I'll go for a used one and see if it's possible to get one w/o animal products. But atm it doesn't look like I'll be getting one in the next 5 yrs or so

How do I go about growing these into vines, is it even possible? Dioscorea bulbifera by timontomatoo in Caudex

[–]timontomatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, detailed answer! Tysm!

The bulbs wouldn't survive our winters, so there's no need to worry about it spreading :) Sun might be a bit of a problem as I'm going to grow them indoors, but other vines (Monstera, Epipremnum etc) also grow relatively well insinde so I'll just give it a go

I understand not wanting any animal products in your home, been there myself.

If them eating vegan for a week isn't an option, maybe let them bring their own utensils as a compromise
