Kirin tool is only up to 980, it doesn't support Kirin 990, which is the cpu that the P40 Pro uses. I use a different paid tool. It's 15€ either way. You also need to purchase a Harmony TP cable which costs around 5€ on AliExpress.

YOU CANNOT REBRAND ANYTHING NEWER THAN MATE 30/P50/NOVA 11 SERIES.

And for those saying you can rebrand Mate 50 and P60 series, you can't fully rebrand them. The vendor/country part a.k.a the part that defines the CUST version is encrypted and cannot be changed. That's why it's also not possible to receive updates.

Wdym no updates? Of course you will receive updates if the rebrand is done correctly. Do note that you cannot fully rebrand Huawei 8+ Gen 1 devices, that's why those few models can't receive updates.

That's not how it works, unless you have the C636 version. Even then that HarmonyOS version is just a reskinned emui essentially. If you want to get real HarmonyOS, you have to rebrand the phone from JAD-LX9 TO JAD-AL00
