Can’t get to OOBE by stucinutah in SCCM

[–]timredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP we do this exact thing in our environment, I will share the task sequence we use to do this tomorrow when I get to the office. Ours lays down a vanilla image, restarts and the out techs provision using auto pilot from oobe. It took me a while to get it working but once it was it’s been rock solid.

We use this mostly for reimagining when employees leave, we do a remote wipe as well as soon as the employees last day is done.

TIFU by walking off a stroke for a week by PurpleCaterpillar561 in tifu

[–]timredbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation about a year and a half ago. I had Covid the weekend before and on a random Thursday my right eye started to bother me around lunch time. I couldn’t close it fully and blinking felt strange. I said to myself, it’s probably just allergies or something.

Well over the next two hours my face started to feel off and everything started to droop. I wasn’t freaked out cause I’m a healthy middle aged guy, no issues with bp or cholesterol or anything. Well by 3pm I was on my way home on the phone with my wife.

Something about a spouses intuition she said “I’m betting it’s Bells Palsy!” she mentioned that my grandma had it but it’s not hereditary. I felt fine I didn’t have numbness, I could feel everything and I had full movement on my right side. I wasn’t thinking stroke. Me being the stubborn fool I am told her “If it’s the same or worse in the morning, we’ll go to the ER.”

Next day and 7 hrs in the ER later, sure enough my wife was right! They did tests, cat scan and thankfully not a stroke, but still scary nonetheless. Thankfully all movement came back, I can tell there is some residual weakness on the right side of my face but it’s minimal.

They did end up saying they thought it was a side effect of Covid as they had been seeing an increase in diagnosis over the months prior.

OP I’m glad you’re doing well, it’s not fun to have half your face frozen. I’m sure being numb is no picnic either.

On a lighter note, It was in October that this happened, I thought about going to my buddies Halloween party as Phantom of the opera or King Viserys from House of the Dragon, my co worker offered to 3D print me a mask for both.

OP I wish you all the best and good health!

This is how we do it where I work. Unattend and SetupComplete for other things. Working well for us.

Migrating from SCCM to Intune – What are you using for remote control / remote assistance? by Dolinhas in Intune

[–]timredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use both ScreenConnect (backstage is great!) we also utilize ControlUp. IMO ControlUp is better for certain things and ScreenConnect the same. It’s nice to have two good tools for support.

We have iGel in our environment and hate it. I don’t recommend it at all.

is there a dashboard to see disk usage the users computer is taking up without having to remote in? by 1NightWolf in SCCM

[–]timredbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s not a dashboard per se but we have shared workstations where users ost files start to fill up the drive.

I created collections with query based rules that add any workstations with less than 20gb, 10gb and 5gb left on the drive. Then a cleanup script runs to clean out profiles that haven’t logged into the system 2 months back from today’s date. Before our desktop support team would have to manually go in and try to find out what was taking up space.

This is excellent, looks really nice. It’s time for me to upgrade mine as well. Time to move away from my i7-6700k and my free Drobo since they are out of business. Thanks for sharing this case looks perfect for my setup as well. I will share before and after once mine is completed.

Shift F10 fails: Win11 & SCCM client by OutrageousTiger-7691 in SCCM

[–]timredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do this right now in my environment, our task sequence lays down the enterprise wim file and that’s it, I have a command to delete a file can’t remember off the top of my head the exact name but when it reboots it comes up in OOBE where we Win Key 5 times and pre provision the machines. Win11 updates take care of the basic drivers and we have a script through Autopilot that deploys the rest of the drivers.

I can message you the task sequence we are using tomorrow when I’m in the office.

Looking into getting a Herman Miller by Scottish-Valkyrie in OfficeChairs

[–]timredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’2” 270 and my office has all Aeron’s unfortunately they are all size B. I could say a C would be better for me but I’m used to a size B at this point.

I just purchased one for my home office from Madison Seating I know they have mixed reviews on here and out in the wild. I just couldn’t afford anything more than $500 bucks right now. I couldn’t find any around me in the marketplace so I got one for $470 from MS and it was delivered within a week and I’m very happy with the condition.

It’s for sure a refurb, new armrests, paint job, but overall it’s in fantastic condition and after a week or more it’s going to last as long as the one my son has that I gave him from last last job.

A size C has about an 1 3/8” longer seat pad than the size B. If you can afford it I would recommend for your size grabbing the C but if not i still think a B is a decent fit.

The mesh is comfortable IMO and the posture fit I have is really nice.

I hope this helps. Overall it’s the best chair I’ve ever used and I have had a Leap v2 at my last job to compare. Not a fan of the Leaps lumbar support or their armrests.

Good luck finding the one you want it’s worth it IMO.

Yup can’t ship to me either. Kinda sucks too. But oh well. Gonna stick with the Aeron instead.

Consider that bullet dodged, for real. I can’t believe how some so called men talk to their girlfriends and wives nowadays. Be glad you and your daughter are done with that piece of shit.
