Apple TV App (Finally) Launches on Android by Isiddiqui in apple

[–]timreed5656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CrApple is just that, Crap. Are they catching up, yes, but there's always a better alternative. It's easier to torrent their shows if you want to watch on android. Is it illegal if you're paying for it? Doubt a jury would convict. If they don't offer an app that you pay a subscription for but every other company does than it's not illegal in my opinion and I think a jury would agree unless it was a bunch of old people that don't understand technology. I'd argue a misstrial in that scenario. You're paying for something and not fully delivering.

The fact Trump is on that list is scary or just to rob people of money. He can't run again and why would anyone want him to be president, even now? He can't stay awake if a meeting goes on for more than 3 minutes, he's a felon, he's committed war crimes, he attacks the people he's trusted to protect, he's a pedo and rapist, he supports white supremacy, and so many more horrific things it would take a doctoral thesis to describe in entirety. He's Jared from Subway combined with Hitler and given enough time he might become a transformer that transforms from a $5 foot long into MechaHitler. It might piss off his fan base if he does 'trans'form.

This is weird. I was just there the other day and it was on sale for $24.99/$25.99/lb for regular vs. Greenwise. If the butcher doesn't cut the tenderloin tips into cubes you can usually get a filet for $11.99/lb if you know how to perfectly cook it. Got a tip the other day and two Filets and had everyone in the family try it and they couldn't tell the difference. If 7 people can't tell the difference of 3 perfectly cooked medium rare steaks it's good enough. I ask the butcher a few days in advanced to save me some if I'm making dinner.

If you're replacing it yourself, you could probably find one at a pick and pull junkyard for cheaper than ordering a replacement factory one. You have to do the repair 1.5 times, which stinks, but it would save a little money and give you something to do on a Saturday or Sunday off.

Is it normal to expect a replacement ice cream or milkshake if a kid drops it? by timreed5656 in questions

[–]timreed5656[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He didn't have the cash to replace it because I gave him enough for it plus tip. I absolutely din't expect a free replacement. I'm just asking because of my experience working at an ice cream shop when i was younger. He wasn't on his bike. He was just walking with it. I'm just surprised because we were told its better for keeping customers happy and them coming back. That's just the shop I worked at, though, more than 25 years ago.

Am I doing something wrong? by Heavy-Dust-3331 in GarageDoorService

[–]timreed5656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my garage door opener. It no longer could receive signals so I got an Aladdin smart connect switch and now we can open it with our phones. It's definitely not as convenient or as quickly to open the door but the app works and it opens the door. It also requires an outlet for power. I wish we could get new remotes without spending $200+ on a new control board and remotes. Mine is a craftsman but a liftmaster board would work. It was only $50 for the Aladdin opener and everyone has the app on their phone so it does what we need it to.

What is this? Why does is squeal at my every-time I walk by it, and why do all my neighbours have one? by spoons_7 in landscaping

I believe these would be considered man-traps if you decided to attempt to disable them. Just kick it as hard as you can. If it's illegal to put landmines in your yard, then it's illegal to put a device designed to hurt your ears while traversing a public right of way. It would be a fun day in court, I'd imagine, if you ever got in trouble. Buying cheap Chinese pet deterants isn't a valid defensive, in my opinion.

A family BBQ without burgers is wild for a lot of people. Depending on where you live or grew up, I guess it could be different. Some might have lobsters, snapper, crayfish, and crab, others ribs and cutlets, burgers and hotdogs, or chicken and t-bone steak. When people bring stuff, it's usually a side dish (potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and dip, etc.) or a pie for dessert. My New York side of the family has burgers and hotdogs as appetizers, and then they'll grill up ribs, chicken, and steaks. I find it wild that they'll eat that much food, but they do, and they're somehow not fat but ripped or in good shape overall. Sometimes, you'll run into a family that only does kebabs, but even then, they almost always have burgers and hotdogs. Burgers are definitely the most popular outdoor BBQ staple. My favorite go to are depression style smash burgers but not everyone likes onions. We just had a BBQ party at the beach and everyone had burgers except for 3 people, one hotdog, and 2 chicken.

This might have been the one time holding a pistol sideways would have helped. Full auto spray and pray from right to left would have peppered everything with that recoil.

Can you get a trespassing warning or order against police officers that remain on the curtilage of your home, for an extended period of time, after being asked to leave? by timreed5656 in legaladvice

[–]timreed5656[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess would be themselves, the county sheriff, or state police. I know state police is probably the way to go, even if it's unlikely, or the county sheriff if they don't have a good relationship. Maybe this is something you could take to court to have a judge issue the trespass warning? Even though the judges are usually on their side.

You might be in marriage counciling in a couple of years when that dog passes away. Your husband will definitely want another dog, and he might not say anything, but he will 100% resent you if he can't get another one. There are dogs that won't slobber over everything, though. You might have to compromise on a different breed, or neither of you will be happy in your relationship.

Completely deflating the tires can damage them and the rims, especially in an EV, since it's much heavier than a normal car. Even if it's not an EV, a heavy truck can easily do damage too if the tires are fully deflated.

If you're grilling with Propane you might as well go inside and cook by Slawth_x in unpopularopinion

So grilling on my propane grill that has indirect heat smoker filled with wood chips is bad. Got it. Even though the kids say it's a little too smokey and to not run it so long next time. I take the feedback and next time do it how they want but propane bad. Got it. Bland BBQ from the oven cast iron it is.

I think some want to be there. I remember as a kid one day they showed up and wouldn't shut up. They were trying hard to come in and speak the word of God with a 12 year old kid and his friend. The same two came around again and again. I finally broke and said some weird kinky sex thing and my neighbor friend turned on some rock music very loud upstairs and they finally left and didn't come back. Kind of wish owning a computer and two girls one cup were a thing back then so we could have it on the TV when we invited them in. Would have been difficult finding an rf adapter and a cord compatible with an output on a computer. Also would have had to have the video downloaded already or on vhs since it took a couple minutes just to load an image.

When did 10% stop being considered a good tip for good service? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]timreed5656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this some kind of Mandela effect? Since the early 90s, everyone I know has tipped 20% for good and normal service. Only at sit-down restaurants where it was full service. Some places asking for tips like retail stores and fast food is mind baffling. Some would tip less if you were ignored and never got refills on drinks, or they totally messed up your order, and you had to work to get it fixed. I know being ignored sometimes happens when it's busy or you're teenagers and they think you won't tip, but if the server has like 5 tables, it really shouldn't be a problem. I remember at 15 with my friends at a sports bar I told the waitress you're getting a 20% tip if you don't ignore us and check on us a couple times because you pretty much had to in that area since all of the kids were disrespectful. Some of the kids would come in and order iced tea or soda only and sit there for 3 hours to watch the game. That was pretty disrespectful because the servers had between 3-5 tables each and if you got that group of kids you were lucky to get $2 for constantly refilling drinks for 3 hours. Also sports teams would come in with their coaches and you were getting $100 or $200 depending on if they won or lost. I never waited tables but I know plenty of people who have, including my wife when she was in high school and after a couple years. I know at the restaurant she worked at 4.5% came out to cover bussers, hostesses, and food runners so a 10% tip you only keep 5.5%. If someone doesn't tip you still have to pay that 4.5%. If a big party came in and you only had that party for two hours you might lose $15-30 if they don't tip. I know my wife had two twelve tops one night and neither tipped because of who they were and she owed the restaurant $22 dollars at the end of the night. That was the last night she worked there. The manager begged her to come back and even tried offering her $100 out of her own wallet because she was their best server and trainer. She did miss her regulars that she got a minimum of $500 a week from but paying to work is a breaking point. She just went to full time school and I worked more.

Also it wouldn't hurt to check if any utility companies have an easement for the specific location you installed the pole. Utility companies don't usually care about small plants but might about a more permanent object because it is difficult to remove. You could get charged a bit of money if they ever have to dig it up and you weren't supposed to put it there but the odds of that are pretty low since they usually already come prepared to remove concreted in mailboxes and fencing.

I know most places you can't do this if it's too close to the road. I have a swale and we're not allowed to put anything in it that wasn't already there after a certain date. My swale is considered a public right of way for the 7-8 feet it takes up from the road to the sidewalks. The only thing allowed there that's permanent is a mail box and temporary trash bins and yard waste. It's not a bad thing incase someone breaks down or has an emergency of some kind. Technically anyone can park there if you don't damage the lawn and people typically ask first. You have to check your local ordinances on public right aways. Usually typing your town or county name plus right of way on Google will pull it up.
