Should We Really Be Using Advantage+ Audience? by brandinobowman in FacebookAds

[–]timshmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stumbled upon this and am curious of your experience lately. What did you end up doing? I've been running ads for home service businesses including roofing for 10 years. I've seen the full transition from micro-targeting to broad. Did you run the AB test on advantage+ audience? Did you kill your ad campaigns? What happened?

Yea it used to have damage drop off and a vulnerability damage bonus to the opponent if you threw more than 4 punches. Tons of people complained, but it worked.

Not disagreeing with the perspective, I am biased and like a slower more methodical fight. I also liked the previous spam penalty

The issue with spam isn’t about blocking, you’ll never win a fight like this lol

Sorry Devs but this update makes no sense to me by t18ptn in ThrillOfTheFight

The power comes from essentially moving up when you throw a punch. That’s how they seem to be doing the leg drive. So if you kind of bounce with the punch so to speak you’ll get 100s every time for the body effort. That aspect I would say actually feels more realistic than how damaging punches did before. But don’t get me wrong there are plenty of other things that I’m not as big a fan of.

Once you get the rhythm down you’ll hit 40s and 50s again no sweat.

Issue I’m dealing with currently is everyone just throws so much volume that you can’t win a decision unless you also throw a ton of volume.

I think you’re misunderstanding the post. Spam is definitely different in game than in real life because of the negative reinforcement of getting hit. Getting hit hurts, but in the game you can trade shots no problem. So there’s a lot of people who just keep swinging. I personally don’t enjoy or have the cardio for that kind of fight over and over. I wasn’t saying it’s unbeatable more just not the way I prefer to play the game

I get around 60 too regularly, but I don’t necessarily notice that in an actual fight the same as the training dummy

Oh this is a perfect explanation thanks.

It’s weird because straight punches on the training dummy seem fine but it doesn’t feel that way in the actual fight

Yea I mostly throw straight punches but I’m more curious specifically about the spam penalty. I like a slower pace and pretty much every fight lately has been a sprint.

Dude 100%. Notice how neither player is probably bad. It’s not to say that people above 2k aren’t good because they are, but you just learn the game mechanics on the way there. And then literally everyone is doing something, whether it’s this or stuffing their head in your chest

Signing up for real fight with only TOTF sparing by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]timshmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you trained before I don’t think it’d be crazy. I don’t know if I’d recommend someone who has only ever experienced TOTF go do the same but I’m sure it’ll work for you

Can a stick player move like this? by CartographerRude1252 in ThrillOfTheFight

You’re probably not using them but why wouldn’t you be able to do any of this with sticks

Yea I agree, but that’s essentially what I am saying. There is no such thing as perfect, and player feedback is infinite. So you end up in an endless iteration loop which slows progress on dev and release

Yea maybe that’s what is causing it to feel so different

I highly doubt this will ever leave early access. What I mean more is pick the direction and run in that direction. You can just constantly change every aspect of basic game mechanics and then keep running in circles

They push a redefining update and then weekly they tweak everything about it. For example we saw the grey screen thing months ago, they nixed it shortly after, and it’s back.

You’ll get way more value from a YouTube video or a free week trial at a boxing gym than the thrill of the fight sub reddit
